An excellent mouse with a long battery life, plenty of customisation. ABOVE ALL COMFORTABLE!
Corsair SCIMITAR ELITE RGB WIRELESS MMO Gaming Mouse (what a mouthful - talk about a long name) -It feels well built and nice in the hand -lots of buttons and customisation via the app -so far the mouse wheel feels smooth -battery life (via inbuilt battery) is miles ahead of my old RAT 9 wireless mouse -flexibility of bluetooth or wireless receiver (the usb dongle is neatly hidden in the bottom of the mouse - nice touch) -ergonomics are pretty good and i love that the buttons have different textures to tell them apart without looking. The side buttons can also be slid closer and further from your thumb and locked in place. -usable for me as an adult with small baby hands Negatives - I miss my pinky and thumb rests from the RAT 9. The corsair has an indented place for the pinky but its not quite as comfortable though Im glad its there. Not something you find on all gaming mice. -The iCue software took 3 attempts to install for me. Could have been my AV detecting registry entries being made. -the inbuilt battery is a double edged sword - much larger capacity and charge at the cost of some effort to replace later down the line. Ive made my peace with this but worth thinking about.

Great MM) mouse - very well built, adjustable for different hand sizes, and really good software.
I purchased this MMO mouse to replace my unreliable Razer 'Naga'. This unit us lighter, has a noticeably better battery, contains a storage space for the RF dongle (very useful for long term use), has FAR better software than the Razer equivalent and is compatible with the really nice 'iCue' colour co-ordination for peripherals software. The RF mode has great response time for games, switching between it and the energy-saving bluetooth mode is instant. There's multiple DPI settings you can flick through with one button. Highly recommended . Assuming this lasts better than the Razer Naga did, it represents pretty great value - even at the relatively steep £80 GBP price point.

Great mouse, but the scroll wheel response gives out.
I first bought this mouse back in November 2020 and then a second time in December 2022. Don't get me wrong though, this is my favourite mouse of all time, but the biggest downside is that the scroll wheel response gives out overtime if you're using it frequently. Yes, it's still usable, but the amount of fighting I have to do to scroll in/out or up/down when the input decides to do the complete opposite gets super annoying. It only gets worse the more you're using it often too, and sadly I've not found a fix to this issue. As a TLDR for my honest review on this mouse though. Pros: Very nice design, hehe RGB go brr (if you disregard how terrible the ICUE software is) It fits super well for my hand side, and it has a perfect weight. Doesn't feel heavy. Wiring is strong, never had any issues with breaking or threading. Cons: The scroll wheel gives out overtime and only gets worse the more you use it. Buttons are relatively close together so it can be easy to click the wrong ones at times.

Scroll wheel design flaw!
I've had this mouse for 2 years and it's broken. The mouse has been reliable for the last few thousand hours. I'm not a power user, 1-3 hours per day on average, but the mouse is showing it's age. Due to the design the dirt gets stuck in all the gaps and the mouse goes from new to dirty very quick. Sadly, today the scroll wheel stopped working. Thankfully, if you're quite handy, the mouse is very easy to get apart and allows for cleaning and repairing. Annoyingly, the design of the scroll wheel allows for wear and tear that breaks the spindle inside. I've managed to glue the spindle back together but it's not a great fix. For the price I paid, I would expect this to be a 3-5 year mouse. Not 2 years...

Solid mid-range option in a sparse MMO mouse market.
Functionally, the Scimitar is great. Despite having stopped playing World of Warcraft, being able to hit 12 buttons on a mouse is unbelievably freeing, to the point I mostly use my keyboard for simple WASD movement in games and bind everything else to the mouse. Before this I used a Reddragon M905, the budget MMO option which served me very well, until my hard mousepad chewed up the feet and every replacement I tried felt off. The Scimitar similarly doesn't feel great on a hard mouse pad. It's a heavy mouse, and moving it at all sounds like slamming a brick on your desk. I highly recommend using a cloth pad for a mouse like this. The cable is too quite rigid and noisy, so I recommend a bungie of some sort to fix it in place. For any Linux users, this mice plays well with the OpenLinkHub software so no VM or secondary Windows install is needed for rebinding the buttons or changing the LED colours (check your firewall settings if it refuses to show). Coming from the M905, I expected to warm to this instantly, but it actually took some time. The M905 has a thumb-rest which this (and most mice) lack, and to be honest I miss it. It means your thumb is always on the number pad, and pressure needed to actuate them is far lighter than with the M905. For weeks I was accidentally hitting buttons until muscle memory developed enough to rest lightly on the buttons. Even then, moving quickly in an FPS game for example means the delicate pressure you're used to applying is thrown out of wack. Even now, the actuation needed for the right click is so light and I'm constantly accidentally right clicking. In short, this will take time to adjust to if you're used to a mouse with hard buttons. The bigger problem with this mouse is the build quality and potential issues down the line. The mouse wheel is frequently identified as a near inevitable failure point, though I've yet to see any issues after a few months. The left click however has developed this weird creaking when held down hard, a problem the right click doesn't have. To reiterate, this mouse functions very well and feels good in the hand, but potential quality issues (and current odd behaviours) mark it down a few stars. It sits in a weird place of being more premium than cheaper MMO mice, but not cheap enough to be a first time users first MMO mouse. If you're on a budget or haven't used an MMO mouse before, I highlight recommend the M905. Otherwise this is perhaps a good fit.

MMO mouse review
Setting up the mouse was easy and straightforward. If there were any problems, they could be easily resolved by consulting the instruction booklet or visiting the website to download the software for the mouse. The responsiveness is sharp and does not feel like it's lagging behind any movement. The size and shape fit comfortably within my grip, and I've had no trouble finding a comfortable way to hold it for longer gaming sessions. Additionally, it comes with a small screwdriver that allows you to move the multiple mouse buttons back and forth to accommodate different hand shapes, ensuring you’re not overextending to reach a specific button. This mouse not only functions exceptionally well as an MMO mouse but also excels as an FPS mouse, offering multiple options for remapping buttons.
