I'm a leftie, too. These pens don't smear or glob. I love them.

Q: is this sharpie gel ink permanent?

I contactedSharpie and asked if their Gel pans are permanent, I use them for writing checks. Here is their reply. We understand that you would like to know if Sharpie S Gel is permanent just like the markers. Kindly note that they contain water-based ink unlike our permanent markers that contains alcohol-based ink which makes them permanent. Gel pens may fade on checks. We still recommend for you to use Sharpie No Smear Pens.

I have had this same issue in other products. However I ordered 0.5 and received 0.5. I think the picture is generic. Great pens as well
