I bought this because I was diagnosed with burning mouse syndrome and was looking for a way to help calm my nerve and get a little bit of pain relief. After taking this for several months, I can report that it definitely has helped with lowering the pain of the burning mouth, particularly in the tongue area. It definitely is not a cure, and it is not advertised as such, but I want to be realistic that I still feel the burning mouth, but not nearly as much as I did before I started taking this. For me, this pill was really easy to digest, I didn’t really have any side effects from taking it. I decided to get this particular brand because it was a little gentle on my stomach than other brands that I had been taking previously.

I am so glad I finally got the R Alpha Lipoic Acid 300 mg capsules. Just sorry it took me nine months after hip surgery to realize there was something out there to help with my damaged nerve cells! (They doctors don’t tell you this can happen!). The section of nerves that run from the hip to my knee went completely numb as a result of the surgeon pushing them aside and perhaps stretching them beyond what was usual. The skin and entire thigh area went completely numb. I tried acupuncture about 4 months after surgery but that only helped a little to stimulate a tingle in affected area. After 9 months I read an article about damaged nerve cells, recommending stabilized alpha lipoic acid. The reviews were good, so I bought a low dosage 100 mg pill at the vitamin store. I ended up taking 3 per day. Too much to swallow for me. But they were having some slight affect on the area. Then I saw this brand of 300 mg you take twice daily for a dosage of 600 mg. I have been taking these for 4 months and I can report that the feeling has returned to a good portion of my thigh, but not all of it. But there is increased tingling under the surface of the skin when I scratch or jab with my nails. Something good is definitely happening to the “dead” nerves in that numb area. I also take B12 vitamins daily in a cherry flavored sublingual. When I saw my Surgeon at the one-year follow up appt he told me the B-12 and Alpha Lipoic Acid are the right things to take and he takes them too! Well why didnt he tell me that a year ago!!! Oh, because these are supplements and the medical & pharma industries don’t like you to know about them!! I will continue taking these and hopefully, someday I will have feeling restored to my entire thigh. Wish me luck!

I think it’s helping. Was quite surprised at urine smell. Read that’s the sign of a good product. No side effects otherwise. Will continue and see how it goes.

These guys seem to be focused on making what they say they're making and with good quality. I've learned to be careful with flashy labels from non certified labs and way too many excellent reviews.

Had I seen this bottle was TWO capsules a day at the high price, I would not have purchased it. So this means it lasts for a mere 30 days. Another reviewer said the price hiked, but the ingredients and number of capsules did not. The product works as well as any other. So I am going with "any other" now.

Received my Amazon order for Horbaach's Stabilized R-Lipoic Acid and had one capsule at dinner, relief from my sciatica pain was almost immediate and lasted well into the next day. Very impressed w/ R-Lipoic Acid. Have tried lots of other "cures" and pain killers and R-Lipoic Acid works the best. Only been a week since I started but, fingers crossed, no side effects. Now if it relieves my meralgia paresthetica (numbness and buring in the thigh) I'll be in 7th heaven.

Excellent brand for an important product. It would be worth your while to look up this supplement to get an overview of what it is about.
