Q: Most of the airlines are saying only 8" high.... 18.5 long ~13.5 wide... but people are using it when flying? I have no experience. Any input?

I wrote a review for this item because I absolutely LOVED using it for flying my 2 cats from SC to WA back in January of 2010. The height was an inch or 2 higher than US Airways guidelines, but it fit perfectly. They never measured it at the airport either...I had to take the cats out to go through security, but no measurements done at check-in, security, or at the gate. The good thing about this carrier is that it is soft so that the top could be squished a bit, if needed. It has stiffer supports in places to keep it from collapsing, but not so much you couldn't squish it a bit without really affecting the animal's comfort. The bag fit my 2 cats (about 11lbs each) at the same time and they had plenty of room...but the bag isn't huge and doesn't look huge. What airline are you planning on flying with? Even looking at the new guidelines, I wouldn't think twice about trying this bag again if I had to fly with my animals. Hope this helps!

Q: what is the dimensions? Is this spill proof?

the carrier dimensions are 16 inches long x 10" width x 11" tall, my cat measured 14 inches long from neck to tail and she fit just fine ou it. The inside pad is not spill proof you would have to use a pet pad.

Q: will the black/yellow carrier ever be avaible in regular. The red is too bright for but is perfect in terms of size and features?
