I've had a Fiskars slide paper trimmer for years and I love it. It is accurate and the cuts are crisp and neat. With the thickness and fiber content of the paper I selected for the bands on my wedding invitations, the blade was snagging and tearing my paper. I hoped this trimmer would work better and it does not disappoint. The rotary style blade glides right over the sheet and leaves a clean, crisp cut. With the self-sharpening blade, the 100th cut is just as precise as the first. Speaking of precise, I was able to trim 1/8 inch accurately. That is not always the case with the slide style trimmer (sometimes I get lucky). This trimmer is durable, I dropped it when I was relocating a stack of projects and supplies. No damage at all.

Genuinely not very usable. I would not suggest this because of its inability to grip and hold down the paper whilst also not being able to grip the counter I put it on. Let me return to the former; it has no grip on the paper and I often find that it moves the whole paper a direction, damaging to the overall cleanliness and beauty of whatever I intended. The cutting is not great for denser papers. So if you intend that, then don't look here. For simple paper, this- and the great majority of other things- would work. For anything even slightly more complicated, your out your money on this one.

This cuts cleanly through thick cold press watercolor paper. I've tried other brands and had ragged edges. With this I had clean crisp edges. It's nice.

I love Fiskers. However, I ordered this and it came in the box, however the box tape was not taped down, item had dust and scratches all over it, blade even had particles on it. This order seemed to have been a used and returned item then resold as new! I expect more from Fiskers! I am not someone who writes many reviews, but this item had me disappointed! Rotary trimmer. Cutting ability is meh at best. I had high hopes, but this purchase dimmed my view on Fiskers.

Works

Compact, easy to store, cuts paper well. You can’t cut very many pages all at once, but if you need to cut paper only every now and then, this is a great tool. It cuts card stock and photo paper as well.

I’ve had one for years. So useful for making precise cuts on IDs, photos, school projects…use it all the time to make note paper from scraps or junk mail.
