Large Red/Multi Stripe Dog Collar: 1" Wide, Adjusts 18-28" - Made in USA.

Another 1 star review with the same title has a good description of why the collar I received did not work. But it was from 2012, and apparently in the 11 years since, thay still sell the defective design. The collar I received was not a quick release. After some research I found that it was assembled as though it was a Martindale style collar, but was assembled without using the correct hardware. A true Martindale uses metal slide rings to create a slip collar which tightens when pulled. The collar I received used all the original snap clasp and plastic slider adjusters and was then sewn in an unusual fashion. This created a collar that had the twin circles of a Martindale but with the clasp locking everything in place so it couldn't slide. That resulted in a collar that could only be put or taken off by adjusting the fit. So, if you get a collar that is confusing as to how it adjusts, you got one like mine. Just return it as I did because it will never work right.

Very well made, colors are beautiful. Packaged well and promptly delivered. Actually, this product is exceptionally well made and among the most beautiful I have seen.However, it's a bit heavier than most similar products (probably due to the quality of hardware and the double layer of strong woven nylon covered by sewn on ribbon) so if you have a dog with a fragile long coat of hair, hair that is easily damaged with heavy collars/harnesses/leashes, you might want to cover it in plastic wrap to try it on your dog 1st before using it, just to make sure.THE ONLY REASON I DID NOT GIVE IT 5 STARS is that my dogs have delicate coats with long silky hair and heavy leashes/harnesses/collars damage their hair by causing matting. I regret this and did not consider it before ordering or before using because they are so attractive and so well made. MOST dogs do not have this issue.I strongly recommend this product to anyone without a full coated dog with fragile, long hair that mats easily (such as a Briard or Afghan Hound).

I purchased this collar to go with the matching leash,  Medium Purple/Multi Stripe Dog Leash: 3/4" wide, 6ft length - Made in USA. , and they not only look great together, but they also look so beautiful on my dog. The purple tones on this are so nice, and are a nice change from same old stuff that you always see at the big pet superstores.The collar is 3/4" wide and adjusts in length very easily through the use of a sliding tension piece that holds the desired length securely in place. The buckle on this, although made of plastic, seems to be of good quality, and is actually a nice feature in my opinion. it is the type that you simply insert one side in to the other and that's it - it snaps locked! No fighting with trying to find the correct hole for your dog's neck size, etc... Opening the buckle is as easy as grasping it from both the top and bottom, gently pressing on the tabs, and pulling it open. Also, there is a solid metal ring near the buckle for use when attaching a leash to the collar.This is a great buy for the price here on Amazon, is USA-made of good quality materials, and looks very nice for anyone looking to pamper their doggy with a new collar.

The collar is exactly as pictured. I have had little dogs for many years, this is the only type of collar I will recommend. It is very durable yet light weight. You can easily snap your doggy in and out of it, yet the dog can not accidentally unfasten it. It adjusts to the size of your dog so if you are like me and let their hair grow in the winter, the collar can be adjusted for comfort. The color does not fad or run so it will look just like the picture even after it has been warn for 5 years. Best collar ever.I bought this one for my mother's new Chihuahua puppy. I also got the matching leash and a hart shaped name tag from Boomerang Tags. The tag is two sided and has my mothers contact info on one side and the following statement on the other: IF I'M ALONE I'M LOST PLEASE CALL MY MOM.The combination of collar, leash and tag made the perfect gift.

I bought this collar for my 40 pound beagle mix a few years back. We loved the collar and although it got a little older looking with age, the band held up well. Unfortunately the plastic buckle broke, which probably shouldn't happen with a dog collar, but since it had been a few years and given normal wear and tear, I wasn't too concerned. I ordered another identical collar from Amazon, and this one came pre-chewed - there were deep bite marks in the plastic clasp, so that one was sent back. We finally received the current collar, and within one day there were white scratch lines through the center of the stripes. My dog is active, but one day of normal wear and tear shouldn't cause this! I'm not sure why this one got scratched up when the last one didn't, but I'm thinking their quality may have gone down since I purchased before. My dog has been wearing the new scratched up collar for about 6 months now and it has otherwise held up fine. I'm going to be looking for a new collar for her for the next go-round though given all the quality issues with Sassy Dog Wear - it's too bad since it's such a cute design!

Good quality and durability. Hold up over time and last. Like this brand and have been happy. I am a repeat customer of Sassy Dog Wear and will continue to buy their products.

I am just realizing I haven't reviewed this item yet. In some ways that is probably a good thing, because now we've had almost 5 years to test it. Yes, that is 5 years of daily wear. I wash it each time my dog gets a bath, by just removing it and using the same shampoo I use on him. I am happy to say that it has held up with very little wear and tear. I would absolutely recommend this collar to others and am looking at possibly getting a new one for my boy, so he can have a different color for a while (5 years or so.)

Just know that when you order. I wanted a small collar and it adjusted smaller just fine. It's a good looking collar on my gray dog. And much sturdier than the one she just lost.(Update: My dog and I get compliments on this collar all the time. After a year of wear (in the rain, etc.) I bought 2 more so she will be styling until at least the end of 2022!)
