Keyboard

I work in IT. My mouse and keyboard are my 'tools of the trade' -- my interface with the computer, and how I earn my living. The Apple wireless keyboard is one of the most pleasant typing experiences I've had. The scissor style chicklet keys feel good to type on, although, admittedly not as good as say, a mechanical keyboard. Unlike virtually every other bluetooth or wireless keyboard I've ever used, this keyboard never has any connectivity issues, lag, or dropped keystrokes. Being that I use a Mac, it works is detected automatically at boot, and even works in the EFI bootloader environment (when you hold 'option' after the boot chime). Battery life is great, I usually get a couple of months out of a pair of AA batteries. Apart from USB C rechargable batteries, I really don't see any reason to spend the extra money on the new "magic keyboard". My one and only complaint about this keyboard is that they don't offer a wireless model with 10 key and extended function keys. Works perfectly so far; looks and acts like new. While it didn't come with instructions, setup was a breeze, and there's a diagram on the bottom of the board for the position of the batteries. I read some reviews before purchasing that said it was smaller than the reviewer would've liked, but I'm used to typing on a 13" Macbook Pro and find typing on this keyboard comparable and comfortable. I only wish that the tiny indicator light that appears when I turn the it off and on would stay on the entire time that the keyboard's on so that I can remember to turn it off; however, I don't know if any other keyboards are more convenient in that department!

Arrived in 36 hours with Amazon Prime's standard 2 day shipping in brand new condition. The keyboard appears to have never been used even once. Still had the stickers on the battery compartment cap and the power button. No original Apple retail packaging or instructions. Well protected packaging for shipping. The keyboard paired with my mac mini in seconds after I put in 2 AA batteries. Works perfectly. This appears to be new old stock. The date in the fine print on the underside is 2009. Genuine wireless Apple keyboard for more than 50% off! I've been using a magic trackpad that I bought directly from Apple along with the Mac mini about 18 months ago and the look/style matches perfectly. Highly recommend!!

Just wanted to leave a quick review. Honestly I was very apprehensive about purchasing this item as I saw quite a number of negative reviews. The negative review stated that the item was dirty and clearly used before so much so that when it was received the item did not work as specified. However this is not my experience at all. I receive the item extremely clean as if it was brand-new. It even came with two AA batteries. These batteries were not advertised as being included, so I was quite surprised when they were in my package. I placed the batteries in the keyboard and ha ha! I had a brand-new working keyboard! It works beautifully. I will update this if anything changes, but as of right now I'm a very happy customer. The only reason why did not get this five stars is because the one thing that did upset me, is that the item was not shipped right away. It took quite some time for it to be shipped. But once it was shipped it came within a day.

Good deal

I thought we made a mistake and did not catch that this keyboard is battery powered instead of being chargeable via a lightning or USB-C cords, but no, it looks like the seller intentionally hid that. Returning - I would not have bought it if it were clearly stated.

The keyboard is refurbished but it honestly came in an "as new" condition. Not even a single scratch. The battery life ia great, i have even left it on over night for several days and it may have an auto shut-off function when not in use because the battery lasts for a long time. It is simple to pair with any Mac, and the keyboard is comfortable and slick. The keys are soft, so they don't require a lot of pressure to type. Excellent product.

This keyboard has been good . Only need to replace batteries about every two months but that is worth all the use.
