It’s made of synthetic material and not cotton or wool as you would expect from a Persian carpet

Nice and thick..I highly recommend this carpet ..It is well made and I have a cat to worry about...If she barfs, that is ok. They carpet will be easy to clean and sound proof.. This was my second choice...It proved to be the best choice. The carpet is indeed slightly less than 2. 4 inches... I would buy it again.
