Q: Do the speakers only work together if they are connected with a connection cable? Or can they also able to function together wirelessly?

Yes, they must be connected with cable. They cannot work independently, because one of the speakers is an active speaker (Bluetooth and power cable) and the other is set up as a passive speaker. Thats the way they work.

Q: what is the footprint, dimensions of a single speaker without packaging plz

The speaker rests on cylindrical pads. Outer most diameter of the cylinders is 29.6 mm. Rubber pads are a little smaller at 24.6 mm. Measuring from center to center of the cylinders, the width of the footprint is 111 mm, and the length is 188 mm. The overall rectangle close to the base is approx. 270 mm x 200 mm.

Q: Difference between s1000 mk2 and s1000 db?

Consumer Reports says the MK model replaces the DB model, but otherwise isn't clear on the differences; CR rates them at #1 and #2 currently in its testing. The Edifier website doesn't show the DB model as a current product, so you'd have to find another way to compare the two. Looking at the pictures for each model on Amazon, the features on the remote control look improved on the MK model.

Q: What is the difference between 4.0 and 5.0 Bluetooth connectivity?

5.0 is faster and the range is higher. Is the sound better than 4? if you google it it seems there is not a big difference.
