WEN 56035-047 Construction Zone Plate Compactor Pad

I had bought the plate compactor earlier this year and after using it to tamp down some crushed concrete, I decided to work on a gazebo project in the back yard and use 'paver-blocks' for the floor surface and I was going to use the compactor to level them out. But after some research, I found that there is the possibility of breaking them from the force generated by the machine and after putting down over 1300 of these, I didn't want to have to mess with that. I found this would help reduce the possibility of that happening, so I purchase it.Well, it's been great and I've used it a few times and I couldn't be happier with the results. The installation went pretty quick considering I was trying to move a 240 lb. machine around to be able to get this under it and then be able to bolt it up to each end. I didn't break a single paver block nor mark any up and I look forward to using it when I create a 100-foot paver walkway from the gazebo to the deck next summer!

The materials are sturdy, as expected. You may have to modify it to fit other tool which is fair.

Mounting this pad to a Harbor Freight plate compactor wasn't as straight forward as I'd hoped. I just bought a tap/bit combo and some 5/16" 1"long bolts, lock washers from HD. Drilled holes and tapped into the front edge of the plate as shown in the pictures. I used medium strength locklite on the threads. Worked great on about 600 ft2 of pavers during the final compaction and poly sand installation steps. Pad looks to still be in descent condition. I only secured the front edge and it seemed to work fine.

I knew when I bought this I would have to modify it to fit the rental that I was going to get from Home Depot. It took about 10 minutes to make the necessary modifications (redrill two new holes and had to cut two notches to fit with the water tank manifold that was on the compactor and left the back unattached) and I was off compacting our patio. It held up very well compacting the paver patio 4 times (2 times without sand, 2 times with sand). Patio is over 1400 sq ft. Very little wear is shown on it and will be able to use it again. As for the pavers, none were cracked. we did have a few light scratches but that was because I didn't get all the debris (small pebbles) off of it.

Worked great after I was able to fasten it to my rental machine.(had to finagle it to work as it wasnt compatible to fasten). Did it’s job and didn’t break any of my pavers. I intend to purchase my own small compactor but will be sure the mat is compatible. I would highly recommend.

It ripped in half the first time I used it. The rubber is too sticky to use over concrete pavers. I had much better performance using an old piece of carpet.

The pad works good. The holds in the bars that were included do not line up with the slots on the WEN compactor. The holds on the pad do line up with the WEN compactor slots.

Just a rubber mat but it works great. My bricks were already semi straight but I soaked the surface with water and ran over them again with this mat. My work looks very professional. The mat protects the pavers from being marred. h
