Q: Are there contrasting specks of another color in these pens? like when i use the gold ,i can see definite amber colored specks. is that normal?

Yes. They are all the same size

Q: Can you use these pens on acrylic?

This is a great set to start with. The colors are canary, gold, amber, lilac, royal blue, turquoise, grass, henna, red, cerise, ocean blue, and black. Have fun with them!
