Left Handed Aluminium Swanneck Pen in Presentation BOX (Black Ink)

I love the idea of this pen and previously purchased a cheaper version of this style of pen to see if I would like it. I DID so decided to splurge on the nice higher quality, silver pen.It arrived in a nice padded box and looked quite impressive nestled in the white satin. Then I removed it from the packaging. It was then that I noticed the barrel is not nice and shiny but appears to be quite scratched and it has the website printed on it -- which I would not have expected for a high quality, fairly expensive writing instrument. But, I was more interested in how it worked.When I tried writing with it, I discovered that the rubber piece right at the neck of the pen prevented me from getting my fingers into a comfortable position. I tried moving it but it is quite snug and difficult to adjust. There is a raised lip that presumably is there to keep your finger from slipping forward, but I found it to be in the way and quite uncomfortable. Then when I tried writing with it, I was quite disappointed. The ink does not flow smoothly or easily. My writing appears choppy and uneven. I tried scribbling on some plain paper to encourage ink flow, but it did not help. Finally, the pen is so narrow that my hand feels a bit cramped after trying to use if for awhileI am quite disappointed as I had high hopes for this pen. The less expensive plastic ones (Maped Visio Pen Left Handed, Black/Blue/Red, Pack of 3 for around $9.00) work much better so I guess I'll stick with them until the company produces a truly high quality writing instrument.

My son wasn't quite sure about this pen until he tried it out. Now he's a believer - neither of us had any idea that anybody made a lefty pen.

I really like the design of the Swan Neck Pen. As a lefty it would be advantageous to use it. The bad execution is the ink dispensing part of the pen. It writes like a cheap ball point I won't use due to spotty ink flow. This pen would be great with black, blue and other possible ink choices but a better tip that dispenses ink more smoothly. Great idea though.

Bought this for a left handed friend. He has been searching for a pen that would allow him to write legibly and smudge free! This pen does exactly that and he is thrilled to report that he uses it all the time.
