Starrett Steel Center Punch with Round Shank and Knurled Finger Grip - Hardened and Tempered, 4" Length, 1/8" Diameter Tapered - 117C

Badass high quality made punch. I personally use this to indicate a mark for a pilot and for staking castle nuts.

Tried it out yesterday. Worked perfectly, but then it was a Starrett.

Starrett tools are excellent.. always perform as expected.

The best center punch I've use very hard metal.

Tools are top notch and worth the painful price. Case is awful - arrived split and not much use - why bother to include a case if it is of no use ? Deducted 1 star for the case

Starrett center punch review: this is a good old school center punch ! I’m a tool aficionado/snob. I’ve used tools my whole working life and since I’ve been a child. I’m familiar with and have Starrett tools and will continue to use them because you can’t go wrong :) I will be buying their automatic center punch. Check it out if you already have a conventional center punch.

I keep this punch tucked in my box of Dewalt drill bits and have used it a couple times with excellent results. The tip remains sharp and hardened and accommodates my metal drilling needs. Recommended!

Worth every penny.

Me siento estafado pues dice la descripción que es un puntero automático y es un granete normal para golpear con el martillo, aunque se ve de buena calidad

Il bulino è molto piccolo e di ottima fattura, il diametro della punta è 1,6 mm. Con un bulino così piccolo è facile centrare l'incrocio della tracciatura sull'acciaio e addirittura percorrendo con la punta una delle due tracce si percepisce con chiarezza l'incrocio con quella perpendicolare. La godronatura è ben fatta, permette di manipolarlo con sicurezza e non lo fa rotolare sul banco. Avendo solo un piccolo trapano portatile, nella foratura dell'acciaio inizio sempre con una punta da 4 mm per la quale questo bulino va bene, comunque, se necessario, si fa presto a ripassare le impronte con un bulino più grande. Cosa da non trascurare, il bulino messo sul mandrino del trapano gira perfettamente concentrico e pertanto è facile da riaffilare, cosa molto più noiosa e imprecisa con bulini con otto sfaccettature.

This small centre punch does a great job. I used it over 500 times and it is still going strong. I would recommend it to anyone.
