Pleased and recommend this supplement
On the recommendation of my optometrist, I started using this supplement and have been on it for a number of years.Both of my parents had ARMD but so far, I’m clear, so I plan to continue. Vision Defender offered the best price.

Great price but large capsule size and unpleasant taste compared to competitor
When Macushield became unavailable, I switched to this, because it had meso-zeazantin, which is the active version of zeazanthin and not found in all supplements. Some people can’t metabolize regular zeazanthin so it does them no good to take it. I’m an Optometrist, so I keep updated on the research. I talk to patients about the importance of meso-zeazanthin vs zeazanthin.This product is less than half the cost of Macushield, but the taste is unpleasant and the size of the capsule is much larger. I’m getting used to it, but the larger size and unpleasant taste is off putting. I eat one of my vitamin gummies immediately after taking this to get rid of the taste.

Great value especially for people on a tight budget
These have the same ingredients and in the same proportion as a different brand, and much better price. To be honest I prefer the other brand, because it's easier for me to swallow and has no taste, but I just can't afford it.These are just as good I assume. Has a bit of a taste and I'm not fond of capsules of any kind, but that's just me and it's worth it in the savings.There is a difference in color among the capsules, and someone else commented that it's due to the source of the marigolds. That's fine with me, it doesn't seem to be a quality control problem.I am on a strict budget and cost is so important. It was a relief to find these and not worry about how to afford to take care of my eyes.I am pleased with these and will continue to purchase.

Coloration
I’ve been using these for a long time and I believe they are helping. I see a lot of negative reviews about the difference in color of some of the capsules. The manufacturer states the difference in color is a result of the marigold extract coming from different variations of marigolds. Until I have some proof otherwise, I’ll continue to use.

Old and smelled, Literally threw 2 bottles in trash
I thought the UK would be a reliable source for this supplement, but these were OLD, and had a strong off-putting chemical/paint smell. One capsule was darker orange color and looked like what you'd expect color-wise, but then the rest of the capsules were all very faded chalky color.. Overall, something way off. I was stuck throwing two bottles in trash because I had bought a 3 month supply. I hate writing reviews, but this one was needed... Awful. I just ordered the Macu Health again instead of these, which is highway robbery, but really no choice.

Strong pvc smell to capsules
I'm giving this 3 stars because the capsules and the inside of the plastic bottle smelled very strong like a PVC shower curtain. It made me uneasy taking the capsules because I felt I might be ingesting chemicals. I won't be buying it again.

They seem to work
Good price with same ingredients as higher priced brand. Make sure to eat before taking or you might get heartburn.
