Initial results are very encouraging
The mount I received was in retail condition - no signs of previous use. It installed very easily and as others mentioned with the screwdriver trick, you can bend the mount a bit to get the right pitch when mounted. I bent mine just a little to account for the angle of my hood and my installation looks absolutely amazing. The cable seems to be a higher quality cable than the stuff I've previously purchased online - not stiff at all, like a typical coax cable, but rather more like a finely stranded DC conductor. I am very happy with this purchase and even more happy with consistent 50-watt transmissions with my well-tuned Midland stubby Ghost antenna, now that I switched to this mount.

Easy To Install And Looks Good
Installed this mount on a 2020 explorer hood and it could not have been much easier. I wanted something low profile for a GMRS antenna and chose this along with Midland's Ghost antenna. The combo has worked out great so far. When I don't need the antenna on the vehicle it is so easy to just remove it from this mount and put a weatherproof cap on to protect it. So unnoticeable that I can even forget its there sometimes. Good quality for the price so far as well. Time will tell about longevity but zero issues so far.

Seems well built, and a nice low profile. Nice long cable for installation options.
I got a GMRS radio as a gift, and I didn't want to use the antenna that came with it - was looking for a more permanent solution. This, plus a +3dB gain stub antenna seemed to be the right solution for my Tacoma. The hood mount part fits well - there is a slight gap towards the middle, but I don't see any vibration. I used a little bit of paint protective film between the mount and my paint to just be extra sure, since I don't plan on taking this thing off any time soon.Running the cable through a vehicle is some work. The reading I did suggested that you not run it through the firewall, because it can interfere with other wiring that is going through there. So, I went under, along the frame, and up through a grommet behind the rear passenger seat, back under the carpet to the dash, through the dash and up to a mount on top of the dash. With all of that, I still had an extra foot or two of cable, so I was fine with the length. I was honestly surprised that I didn't need to extend, given the route I took. If you go that way, make sure to tuck behind heat shielding, because I would expect that this kind of cable would melt. Finally - one thing to note that I didn't figure out until just about the end of my several hours of work: the connector end (coax) actually comes off really easily and goes back on really easily. That makes running cable a LOT easier. I wish I had figured that out *before* running this thing under the carpet and through the dash, but hey, it worked anyway. :-D

Great mount for GMRS or HAM
If you need a low profile NMO antenna mount, this might be exactly what you're looking for. I have two of these...one mounted on the passenger side of the hood for my GMRS radio, another on the driver side of the hood for my HAM tri-band Compactenna. Both work well. The downside I have found is the need to tighten the screw mounts on the bottom from time to time. My truck is used in overlanding, so often the trails are rougher than your casual Sunday drive, so this could be part of the reason these tend to work loose. But as long as you tighten these every 6-7 months you these would likely work well. I know they are perfect for me!

Easy install
Easy install .. when tightening the 2 screws the base lifted a little to make it a little uneven.I like the connector part to the radio comes off so I could "snake" it easy through the hole I drilled.

Midland® – MXTA27 MicroMobile® Universal Lip Mount
PROS: This mount seems well built and seems to work well with the Midland "Ghost" antenna. The removable connector makes routing the cable much easier.CONS: As others have stated, the mount tilts backwards (see photo) when the set screws are tightened. This is a design flaw and could easily be corrected in the forming process. I shouldn't have to re-form a brand new part in order for it to sit flat after installation !Do better, Midland !

Needs shorter Allen screw
For a challenger, it will need shorter Allen screws to clamp down the base, if you not replace the Allen screws with shorter ones, they will shatter your back window when shutting trunk
