Don’t Turn Out the Lights: A Tribute to Alvin Schwartz's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

Drawings and stories are great in this compilation. Hearkens back to the original Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series. Some great authors in the book as well. the publisher really went to a lot of effort to make this book something very special and I think all ages are going to enjoy the stories. Get it in hardback! One of those books you can read yourself or to your kids. And it's not just the stories, but the drawings are incredible. An amazing homage to the original drawings from the series. Also, the stories are incredibly original and very fun. Which was the intent of the original series I believe.

I grew up on Alvin Schwartz's books as well as a couple of authors in this collection. This is a great collection of stories in that urban legend, campfire ghost story motif that Alvin Schwartz did his Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark trilogy. It's paced well and the breaks between different styles of horror is handled expertly. I don't even think there was a weak story in the collection.

I love bed anthologies like this when I was a kid and I still love them now. This was a really good collection f scary stories. Some are super scary, some probably would have hit harder when I was a kid, and some were not as scary but so good. I think my favorites were The Blue Bottle and the Tall Ones. On the whole, this was super scary.

I really enjoyed the stories and there were so many too. I am definitely impressed by this book and can’t recommend it enough for anyone who loves a good scary story.
