A great heating unit for a customized smoker
I purchased this second generation burner to replace a cheaper one I bought from site earlier. Works to a tee. Puts out a good, consistent flame.

Dangerous
This product is dangerous for a few reasons --- A defect in the casting sent a stream of gas (and later a ball of flame) out the side. See picture.- The regulator adjustment is backwards of what you'd expect. Usually right-tighty means off, lefty-loosey means on. So I thought I had the gas shut off when attempting to light, but just the opposite - full on, and pouring out of the hole in the casting.Right off the bat I noticed how poor the workmanship is - one jet hole was drilled and tapped far off center. (see other picture)I should have put it back in the box then and there, but I didn't.I hand-tightened the jets, which was tough because one really wanted to cross thread. After the ball of flame I thought that perhaps the jets needed to be sealed using the provided locktite, so I removed all and reinstalled with. This time I couldn't get the threads on two of the jets to catch and thread, so there's no chance of reinsertion. The design seems reasonably simple other than the glaring reverse control knob direction oversight. The quality and workmanship are poor.
