Buy it for practical knowledge when the Internet goes out
Imagine the grid's out for good and the internet is down. You lack basic first aid / trauma care and know someone that's in need of immediate medical care. What are you going to do? Pull up a DIY Youtube video or quick Google search? Good luck, Jack. Buy the book. Stock up on hard copies of books to learn and grow when the Internet isn't there. Good information in the book, but make sure to train as it could save your life.

Easy to follow and very informative
This is a well written handbook that covers a very extensive range of illnesses. I appreciate that William has a strong medical background as well as experience living off grid. The formatting of the book makes for easier diagnosis and treatment. I would absolutely recommend adding this book to your survival gear.

Must Have!
For someone with basic medical knowledge but not actual medical skills, this book is a great staple for emergency situations AKA when help isn’t coming. It covers a great deal of materials and the illustrations are very useful.

Preppers
This is a great tool for Preppers and non- preppers. It's a good little handbook to know what to do in case of an emergency where you may not be accessible to Emergency Services.

great emergency/prepping medical guide
This book will provide guidance when/if you can't get to the proper modern medical care that we all take for granted every day. It's well-written and -organized, and provides alternatives to over-the-counter medications whenever possible, to give more options. And at the end, there's a series of medical supply kits laid out for the reader (only the prescription ones will be challenging, but it's just a checklist.) Great book for preppers or anyone who wants a backup plan.

Must Read and Keep
I spent many years in the military, and learned basic medical procedures on the go. This book has everything a person needs for first responder type procedures. It won't qualify you as a medical professional, but it can help you keep a person alive in that moment when it is needed. It covers assessment of the situation, and what to do once the problem is identified. There are illustrations throughout the book, and step by step guides for recognizing the problem, making an estimate of the situation, and taking action.

Real wilderness medical advice from a doctor who has been there, done that!
For decades I outfitted and guided canoe trips in northern Canada for the Science Museum of Minnesota. Many of our trips were above the Arctic Circle where help was an airplane ride away. On those trips I relied on Dr. Forgey's classic text, WILDERNESS MEDICINE. This new book, :The Prepper's Medical Handbook" is much more thorough. Equally important is that Dr. Forgey has spent considerable time in the bush. Where other medical authors will scream "evacuation" when things get dicey, Dr. Forgey knows that there are many scenarios where this isn't practical. So he provides realistic alternatives--things you can do right now to save the day. The book covers all the important things plus a wealth of things I, as a non medical person, have never heard of. Forgey writes in an easy, friendly way that I can understand. If you're going in harm's way, get this book!
