Work well and cheap price
This signal generator was easy to build, but before installation, you'll need some tools. I'm satisfied and it displays well the Sine/Triangle/Square.

Received with a defective XR2206 I.C.
Well I assembled this kit and it didn’t work, suspected the XR2206 chip was bad. Purchase a competitors kit assembled the competitors kit and it worked perfectly. I transferred the XR2206 from the competitors kit to this kit and this kit worked perfectly. I then swapped the original XR2206 into the competitors kit a it didn’t work, suspicion confirmed. Unfortunately, it is impossible to replace the XR2206 for less than the cost of this kit so it is going to get disassembled and the parts are going into the spare parts bin. Kind of sad.

shipped fast
Shipping fast1. Missing 1 capacitor but I had one in inventory. Not a big deal.2. IC chip loose in a bag of stuff - not so good. IC not generating sine or triangle wave.

Just get it!
The media could not be loaded. I love this kit, despite my disappointment over the bad IC chip. This kit is very easy with only a small number of parts to solder, 6 caps, 4 resistors, 3 potentiometers, power jack and a few posts. Honestly, a beginner could do it in a hour, average is prolly around 20 minutes for someone who has soldered for awhile.I was going to build my own from scratch but found I did not have all the parts. This kit was cheaper then if I had ordered the parts I needed, right size, and came with a case. No brainer lol I wanted a small pocket size portable sig generator as cheap as I could get one. This fits the bill perfectly, and I know with good components it works good because of all the reviews here and elsewhere!I'm almost certain it's the IC Chip, currently still debugging. I get what looks like a hybrid of a sine and square wave lol. Regardless of any adjustments it doesnt change. Also the amplitude adjustment does nothing. I have checked all my solder joints. If it's not the ic chip, it could be another part. Stupid me, I only checked the resistors on a multimeter before I began. I would recommend testing all the components if you can before you start.I am not at all hurt or crushed. This happens all the time regardless how much you spend. I do not consider myself at a loss here. I will either get this one working or buy another lolUPDATE: With photo and videoGot it working with no issues! It was such a simple fix I should have tried sooner. The main issue was the instability which had everything to do with its power! I was using a 9 volt battery just not enough current. Threw on a 9 volt wall outlet adapter and wow, what a difference. Huge difference the current made. I'm using a 9volt 1 amp converter but a 3 amp works just fine. I had similar issues with my pocket oscilloscope too. 9 volt batteries just dont cut it very well on these kits from China.I liked the difference so much that I upgraded the casing making it more durable and I also added banana plug connectors and a switch for pulse and sine/tried.I'd get it again. The accuracy is just fine for beginners, hobbyists, and for quick checks on location. I checked it on my Rigol oscilloscope and portable osiliscope. It really is a steal for $10 - $15 you see them for.

Poor physical design
You get what you pay for, and since this didn't cost much, I didn't get much. I am getting soo tired of one-page b&w poor quality instructions. It would be so much easier to just include a URL to a good quality PDF on-line. It took a high powered microscope to read the values on the capacitors. Don't expect the case to fit around the board as if the parts soldered to the board are not perfectly aligned the parts don't for through the holes in the case right. Parts of the case were missing. The silk screen on the case telling what the knobs do is actually under the knobs so can't be read. Trying to thread screws into case shatters the plastic leaving broken corners. Don't know whether the board functions or not but assembly trouble took fun out of project. again instructions useless. Not recommended. Not worth the trouble to return. not recommended project for your kids

Great for basic digital design.
A great price and seller. Got the item quickly. The only problem I had was that the delivery person delivered to the wrong house. The address was correct on the package.

Defective IC.
Assembly went well. Upon testing, device failed to generate any signal. Replaced IC with known good device and device worked as expected. Removed known good IC and replaced it with the one that came with this kit and device again failed to generate any signal. Returning kit.Update: Replacement kit had an identical-appearing chip and failed in exactly the same way. Based on other reviews, it would seem that a series of bad IC's were acquired and included as part of this series of kits. Returning replacement kit as well.

Works great but you have to solder everything.
You get a bag of parts. You have to follow the instructions carefully, place each component and solder it to the circuit board. If your good at soldering (and instructions) it's fun. If you make no mistakes it works good.
