Rome Cast Iron Old Fashioned Waffle Irons, Pack of 2

Nice quality waffle maker. Can’t wait to season and make my first batch on them.

It takes a while to season any type of cast iron to the condition of being nonstick, patience is key! There are a lot of videos online that will teach you how to do it, I use Crisco on my cast iron pan and used it on these waffle makers and no issues! The waffles are basic thickness, NOT Belgian, which is exactly what I wanted - crisp thin waffles like my Grandparents used to make us kids back in the early 1980's. Except I know what cast iron is made of and the black nonstick coating on pans is toxic, something I really don't want to cook food on. My grown sons (22 and 29 years old) were eating the waffles with their hands as soon as I took them out and onto plates, they said the waffles were the best ever and the crispness was amazing!I have arthritis in my hands and sternum so I was really concerned about how heavy these would be and how hard it would be to use but I loved making the waffles and will use these forever and hopefully have grandkids of my own to make waffles for then pass these pans down in the family. It's a great investment for future generations!

I love these waffle irons! I’ve used them multiple times now and they’re very easy to use and very easy to clean. I rub a stick of butter on them each time before I pour the batter in & I have no problems with the waffles sticking.

Pro: Great quality, very excited about these. Will last forever. Con: unseasoned & need multiple seasonings to get them ready to use w ease. Do not use until you’ve seasoned it several times or you’ll be cleaning stuck waffles. (Photo was with one seasoning)

One iron flat and useable...Other iron WARPED, has a gap, is UNUSABLE....This is My LAST EVER review because of A_Zs policies.

I use butter, not vegetable oil. Works fine. I also use Einkorn flour. I press the flour into one cup and add one cup of whole milk. Whisk it.I let the waffle irons heat one minute on my gas stove. Apply butter. Then I pour the batter into the two irons. I set a timer for 3 minutes. Turn over and heat another three minutes. This makes for crispy waffles. If I want soft ones, I turn the flame down and heat 4 minutes a side.These are incredibly, reliably successful. I use these instead of bread. Easy. Fresh.These irons are heavy, but I presume this is what keeps the waffles from burning.

I purchased these for camping. makes great waffles!! camp fire makes a great waffle flavor!cleaning was easy make sure you clean properly and season this and nothing sticks!

It took a bit of time to get the wax off the waffle maker. But as soon as we got the wax off and oiled them they made perfect waffles! Oil between every waffle! We used fresh lard and it was perfect!
