Could the crossbar in the middle be removed pretty easily to slide the unit under a bed?

Hi Keith, a little late, and I doubt you'll see this; it might help others though. I significantly disagree with the first two responses. I'm currently researching both (fixed) and (portable) dipping bars. Aside from it being good equipment, I'm determined to figure a way to hide it when not in use, as I'm in a rather small apartment. I think I might have figured it out.I'm looking at the portable models, though also the fixed models. The portable models, when broken down, because they have curvatures in their construction, probably wouldn't fit in my closet, or under my bed very well, if at all. There might be one that would though. I'm still researching that.Regarding the fixed models -- and my disagreement with the original responses -- I must suspect you could use many of them as quasi-portable dip stations. Here's how (apparently): Simply take the typically four bolts used to secure the crossbar between the two upright structures to Home Depot (Maybe view Amazon's hardware department) and match them with virtually similar, or exact, length and diameter bolts-- with WINGNUTS (OR, possibly wingnuts alone that fit the original bolts).IF you can match them adequately, I don't see why, without a tool, you couldn't break it down within about two minutes, then stick it under a bed, or in a closet big enough. A queen size bed would probably be perfect, if it's not crowded below already. :-)Likewise, it could probably be reconstructed, without tools, within a few minutes, once you get it down; holding this, balancing that, while replacing the bolts (which the wingnuts makes it MUCH easier, and faster. Personally, I would probably use it two, three times a week the most. I think probably once I perfected breaking it down and putting it back together, I wouldn't be particularly bothered or annoyed doing such. I would much appreciate anyone's thoughts about this. I am not a proficient "handyman," nor a craftsman. Am I missing something? Is someone going to explain why this is a bad idea? If I'm wrong I'm wrong. I much doubt I am though.I will continue to research this, as I plan to buy dipping bars pretty soon, and I much want to be able to break the equipment down within minutes (likewise reconstruct within minutes) and hide it under my queen size bed, or in my bedroom closet. I will post again if I'm successful, or not, in accomplishing this. It appears this specific work-around, or "hack," would be of much interest to those who have space problems, such as in an apartment, or simply want it out of sight.
