Homax5600 Caulk Finisher, 3-1/4" Width x 8" Height x 8" Depth

Wish I knew of this tool before my first recaulking DIY project. Used this the second time around and the results are much more professional looking and also saved a lot of time smoothing out the caulk

I have been working on a Habitat for Humanity home with a group of my neighbors and I have undoubtedly become the "Queen of Caulk" because of this wonderful gadget. I have used it for caulking bathroom counters, tubs/showers, interior trim and casings, kitchen cabinets, and exterior caulking on windows - it makes a perfect edge every time and saves a ton of work and cleanup. I have demonstrated to all the other neighbors how simple this is to use and I'm sure that most of them (the guys anyway) immediately went to Amazon to buy one. I will probably need to get another one or two because I discovered that for different caulking applications, you can cut the vee a bit deeper to accommodate a larger bead of caulk.

I do not recommend this caulk finisher. It leaves a mess behind and doesn't do the job. I ended using my finger instead of the caulk finisher. Yes I had to wash my hand in between but the results were better. Save your money and either invest on another one or just use your finger as a caulk finisher.

Unlike other tools which spread excess caulk out to a thin, permeable skin, this tool removes the excess, leaving only what you need. It even comes with an instruction sheet tucked in the handle. Years ago, I picked one up in HD and later gave it away. I had been kicking myself ever since because this tool and method uses much less caulk than other systems, and leaves a perfect bead every time. Although HD doesn't carry them anymore, you can find them here on Amazon and the company website.

This is hands down my favorite tool for getting a small, clean edge of caulk on baseboards, door trim, etc. easy to hold, easy to use, and leaves the perfect amount of caulk in the joint. Hope they never stop selling these!

Great simple & inexpensive tool. Removes just the right amount of excess caulk, leaving a perfect caulk line in the joint every time. I have done a lot of caulking over the years. These work better then more expensive metal tools you will find at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. + they save your fingers.
