KidKraft Wooden Puzzle Piece Bookcase with Three Shelves - Primary, Gift for Ages 3+

I was on the fence about this purchase because I was worried my son might not be able to reach all of his books and I thought tipping might be a problem if he were reaching. I am so glad we decided on this- not only was it so easy for my husband to put together, but it is the perfect size for my 14 mo old son. He can easily reach all his toys and books with no worries about tipping because it is very solid/sturdy. Also I thought because of all the books we had this would not hold all of them but it holds way more books than it looks! We have a shelf and a half of extra space for our diaper caddy and some toys. There weren't any scratches or chips in the paint and the directions were simple. I was nervous about the smell other reviewers mentioned but it had only a slight smell when first opened because of the plastic packaging and this was gone as soon as we got it out. We've had it for several weeks and there is no smell at all.

Even with my limited skills, this was easy to assemble. The shelves hold way more than I expected and they are deep and well made. I was able to get all of our grandsons book collection into the bookcase and I still had room for a little tub of rhythm instruments. It really added something special to his playroom. This is a good buy. We are considering buying two more and anchoring them in a stack for the nursery for the next baby due to arrive soon.

I purchased this bookshelf for my elementary school library after looking at many decorative bookshelves. It arrived quickly and was easy to assemble (I recommend two people working together). The bookshelf is very sturdy and it will hold a lot of books, although the shelves aren't far enough apart to shelve larger picture books with the spines facing out.I read a number of reviews about the bookshelf having a strong odor and was prepared to send it back if I found that to be true with the one I ordered. The bookshelf I received was not odor free but the smell was not overpowering.The bookshelf has been a hit with my students AND with my teachers--many teachers have commented that they would like to purchase one for themselves. I highly recommend this bookshelf.

I purchased the Primary Color Puzzle shelf for my son's room to house small toys and books and LOVED it so much that I ordered a 2nd one. It comes unassembled but requires a minimal amount of effort and time to put it together. I was very suprised at how sturdy it actually is and it is designed in such a way that the pieces actually lock together when you assemble it. There is no possibility of it coming apart if a child attempted to climb on it. The colors are very vibrant and it is so well made that it could potentially last many years. I would highly recommend the Puzzle Book Shelf for any child's room. You won't be disappointed!

I just bought this for my 2 year old. I was concerned because of the smell that some reported on their reviews, however the smell is brief, i.e. it was gone before I finished putting the bookcase together and didn't linger. The bookcase is very solid (excellent quality) and very cute. The shelves are not high enough for books like "Look and Find", unless you use the top shelf of course. There is a lot of screwing during the assembly so, a power screwdriver might be helpful. I put it together alone, but it would be slightly easier with an additional set of hands. Also, I didn't notice anyone mentioning this in other reviews, but you can add on to this bookcase by buying an additional one and stacking to save space. If you decided to do this, remember you will need to find a way to harness the bookcase to the wall to avoid tipping. Just an idea.

This is a great bookshelf for a kid's room. It was relatively easy to assemble, though you did have to follow directions and some grunt work is required to put this together. But since each shelf is a different color, that made it a little simpler, kind of like coloring by numbers. It has a pretty heavy feel of real wood and the colors are very vibrant and pretty. When assembled, it is pretty tall and wide too. I use it to put books and puzzles on. I would say it took about an hour for me to assemble, but I'm kind of a klod when it comes to following instructions on how to build something, hence why I will never purchase legos for myself. But the bookshelf is large enough that there was more than enough space for all of my sons' books to fit and all of his puzzles and other miscellaneous toys that somehow magically started appearing there little by little. I would most definitely recommend this bookshelf for a kid's room if you're looking for a bookshelf and you don't have a design in mind for the kid's room and just want something playful and childlike .
