Perry Suspenders 2" Ruf-N-Tuf

My husband has graduated from wearing a dress uniform to a real suit. Problem being he has no hips or butt and even a good belt wasn't keeping his suit pants in place. We ducked out of the funeral home and hit a Kohls for suspenders but spent the next 2 days repeatedly hooking them back on his pants as they were just clips, and they were adjusted as long as they would go too. So before the next suit wearing opportunity (not a funeral) a month later, I had bought these. He's a big and tall man so I got the tall ones. They are very generous on the length, for sure. Hooked on his belt and the whole evening did not unhook once from his belt. It made a very pleasant evening not worrying about a wardrobe malfunction. These were definitely the way to go.

These Perry Ruff-N-Tuff “Y”-back, 2”-wide, belt hook, heavy-duty suspenders are exactly what I needed to hold up my work trousers without the sharp metal clips that chew holes in the waistband, chafe the edge of my truck seatbelt and scratch up chair and guitar backs. I used to sew an extra layer of denim cleats folded over the top edge of the waist band on all my work trousers for the suspender clips to bite into so they wouldn’t slip off, but they eventually did, so then I started clipping them over the top edge of the waistband and 1/8” x 1-1/2” leather belt, which did the trick, but chewed up my belt and didn’t keep the sharp edges from scratching seat and guitar backs or chaffing away a 1/8” deep x 3” long strip off the edge of the lap portion of my truck seatbelt webbing, which would cost $150 to replace! I also like the fact the whole length of these suspenders are heavy duty elastic for stretch and comfort, instead of just the lower back webbing of my old “X”-back suspenders . The heavy duty plastic clips stay attached to my new 1/8” thick x 1-1/2” wide leather belt while seated and work great! I’ve only worn them two days so far, so I don’t know how they’ll hold up so far as they elastic losing its stretch over time.

My husband wears these all the time. They are adjustable, they have enough stretch that they are comfortable. The heavy duty construction is great for working around the farm and hold up well. He has had a pair for years and they still look like new. He loves the ease of putting these on!

I hated suspenders since my mother made me wear them as a toddler. Now as an old man, belts just do not hold my pants up like they used to. I go this particular style suspenders because it clips onto a belt rather than requiring button on the pants or clips that eventually destroy the waist band on the pants. The clips o these are made of some kind of sturdy plastic. They slide behind the belt and clip under it. Once adjusted the 2” wide straps are very comfortable. One thing I was concerned about was the single clip in the rest conflicting with the belt loop that is placed in the center of most of my pants. This turned out not to be an issue. The clip has a notch in it to provides a space for the belt loop. The space is about 1” wide so if your belt loops are wider it may be an issue. Mine are 1 1/4” generally and the clip still works just fine. My only issue, and the reason for the 4 star rating, is that the two over the shoulder straps come together in a leather covered location in the middle of the back. That leather covering tends to cause some discomfort where it rubs on the back. I believe this is because that location is thick to begin with and adding the leather to both sides makes it so thick that rubbing the back is inevitable. I would recommend these to anyone who is carrying some weight on a belt and is having difficulty with their pants riding down as a result. If you carry multi tools, a heavy knife or perhaps are a concealed carrier, this will solve that problem for you.

A lot of suspenders have thin elastic bands that slip all the time. This particular set has a very thick elastic and so far don’t slide around in the adjustment piece. Very happy with these suspenders as they hold up my pants.

These are rugged. After a number of years of daily use, no sign of loss of "stretch." They do need a pretty thick belt to hook over. That and the size of the adjusting clasps make these more suitable for use with work clothes. Casual wear is dubious. Formal wear? Forgeddaboutit.

Bought these for a friend at work. Cause I have two pair already and knew he'd thank me. This guy is "FAMOUS" or is it infamous for showing 'plumbers butt'. I didn't make a big deal about it, gave them on the sly, but did ask later if he'd tried my Christmas present and he said yea, and didn't need to pull his pants up anymore. It is really really nice not to be hiking your pants up all day long. You cinch them up just tight enough that they don't slip off your shoulders and you are good for the day. Over time the elastic gives, so you need to move the buckles up. My first pair started at a few inches above the belt and are now up to my shoulders, but it's been a few years and I got a way to go. Bought a clean pair to wear nice places.

Excellent product recommended particularly for back sufferers, you won't need to tighten your belt so much!

Bought these for my husband 2 years ago for his birthday. He hasnt worn them maybe a dozen times in the 2 years and they are still good, before he would go through suspenders every few months. Will definitely buy again when these ones finally go. Definitely would recommend these
