Excellent for my purposes.
If you're considering this treadmill, know that I wouldn't hesitate to replace the one I have with the exact same model.STUFF TO KNOW:- As commented in other reviews, have it delivered "in place"; that is assemble the treadmill where it is to be used. The T202, like any treadmill in this class is heavy and awkward to move.- Don't be intimidated by assembly, four simple steps. The treadmill is essentially assembled, you simply need to attach the risers and the console to the risers. An extra set of hands to hold items is ~almost~ essential, but if you're experienced with tools it's possible to assemble alone.- I can't say for sure, but I don't know what problems other owners have had with adjusting the belt. My advice to you is MICRO ADJUSTMENTS. A minor adjustment (+/- on either side) takes a full revolution or three to stabilize, so simply make SMALL adjustments and WAIT.- In my opinion, you can buy this treadmill sight unseen. We've all opened a box of an on-line purchase whilst uncertain of what we'll find. While I knew what I was getting, it was still rewarding to see the quality of the pieces and the care that went into the packing, etc. Good Stuff.PRO:-- The box was a bit battered on arrival, but all good inside. Well designed and thoughtful packaging designed to protect your purchase.-- FWIW, this treadmill is NOT a flimsy toy. The risers are substantial steel.-- Each step in the assembly is straight-forward, and the parts for each step come in a clearly marked bag (#1, #2, etc.). No sorting or looking for the right bolt, whatever.-- The cushioning is splendid, I prefer it to most anything I have used.-- I don't use incline, I'm in this for simple cardio. The acceleration and dec-acceleration is smooth and predictable.-- When running, even at top speed the treadmill is quiet and reassuringly stable. I'm 6'1" and 200+ and no problems there.CON:-- What is it with Horizon and their predilection to loud beeping. I'm not the first or last to comment on this, but turn the unit on and you'll wake the neighbors long-dead grandmother from her final rest. OK, I get it, the treadmill is now accepting launch codes. Some rainy day I'll have to go in an wrap the emitter to take the amplitude down from launching pad to something civilized.-- Don't be misled by "iPod Dock", it isn't. No, you can't simply walk up and drop in an iPod and take care of business. The dock is a Nike+ dock. A bit confounding why I should have to install an app to use my iPod, particularly frustrating because I had an older 60Gb model I had intended to dedicate to the treadmill. All this because only certain models (iPhone, iPod Touch, etc.) are equipped to have the Nike+ app installed. You CAN use the headphone jack on an iPod, but that eliminates the build in navigation controls, which I was looking forward to.All in all, I'm very satisfied and ready to run again.

Problems after only 2 years...
UPDATE: Aug 15, 2013: Well, after spending $800 and only using for 2 years...problems have occurred. Mainly, the display no longer shows the correct items...for example, when turning it on, it automatically shows 0.8 mph from the start, and everything looks crazy after that. It appears to run at the correct speed, but since the display is no longer correct, it is difficult to tell. Tried to recalibrate, but no use. The warranty is up and it weighs a ton, and would have to be taken apart or have a repairman come to the house...given what that would cost, we have purchased another treadmill: Livestrong® LS8.0T Treadmill (also on Amazon). I spent this much $$ in hopes that I would be using the treadmill for at least 10 years, but not with this one.Original (Feb 2011): I did a lot of research both online and in person before making this purchase. I used Consumer Reports as a source. I also went to several sporting goods stores, etc. and actually tried some out --- I found this to be the most valuable information -- first-hand. I was unable to try this actual model, but the T101 was available and I actually liked it even better than many of the more expensive models, so I was confident the T202 would be what I was looking for. The size is great -- not too big but big enough, has the right amount of horsepower. The speakers are not great, but I use a stereo or headphones with MP3 player, so not a big deal for me. My husband had no problems putting it together -- TIPS: make sure to have it in the actual room in which it will be used before putting it together -- it will probably not fit through the door afterwards. Also, make sure to read the troubleshooting tips -- I have found the negative reviews about being "shocked" to be from improper assembly. For the price, a very good mid-range treadmill. So far, I am very pleased. Finally, I chose this brand/model due to its cushioned deck -- it was so much more comfortable that the higher-priced brands/models! I would never have known this if I had not tried them out in person -- makes all the difference!
