Men's W96H-1AV Stainless Steel Sport Watch with Black Band

I was looking for a basic watch with no fancy extra confusing stuff and this was it. pros price light weight can barley feel it on your wrist size is perfect super flat (does not protrude too much) not too small or huge like the watches of today looks like a watch for a man easy to use time, date, and year visible at the same time one alarm but can choose date or daily or have it continue every five minute for after time alarm is set 12 or 24 hour mode stop watch light hourly chime if you want that Casio quality water proof (I had Timex watches that had moisture get inside do to water with the Casio that has never happened I own like 4 Casio watches) battery life on my 3 other Casio watches have last well over 5 years maybe even 10. I just got this one so time will tell. cons watch band has screws not a bar to hold it alarm not that loud and short I think like 3 beeps not 100% sure on that light only lasts like two seconds not super bright(I prefer the back blue light like on the Timex watches this is yellow] but it does the job watch looks semi dated Overall my Favorite watch just wish the alarm was louder, looked a little better, had bars not screws for watch band replacement, and blue back light for the light function none of which are a deal breakers. The reason why I brought this watch is that my last Casio watch (a different model) the band broke out of no where I could of lost the watch but did no.t It was cheaper just to buy a new watch than replace the band. It was hard to find the exact band replacement since Casio has so many watch models. I read the negative and this was the main complaint. This is not a major issue for me since I remove or make my own watch bands bands. This is the only major flaw when it comes to Casio watches. Despite this flaw Casio is still one of the most reliable brands I have ever owned.

This is a Casio digital watch, that alone should tell you something about what to expect: reliable functions; great battery life; and decent ruggedness. Think of it as the Honda Civic of digital watches. It's not the fanciest but you can depend on it. I like this particular model because it is pretty slim and sleek. Many of the other watches in this price point have thick, bulky round faces. This one is less obvious and gaudy. I've worn it backpacking and also with a shirt and tie for a meeting. It fit in both scenarios quite well. I wash it down after each time outside and the water resistance does its job. If you want a digital watch that doesn't stick out and gets the job done, this is a good choice.

Really like this watch. Large full-face screen and numbers; light weight; screen lighting feature for night viewing works great. Watch has all the features you need and looks good as well. The one drawback, from past experience with this model Casio: Expect the rubber watchband to crack and break within 18 to 24 months. The special design of this watchband means you cannot replace it with a standard "pinned" style watchband. You will be faced with the decision to order a new specialized band for this model Casio watch, or else buy the whole watch NEW for about the same price as the band alone. Most folks just buy the whole watch again and discard the fully functioning old one with the broken band. Bottom line: An excellent watch that is so cheap (the price of 3 Starbucks Lattes) you treat it as disposable and replace it every couple years when the band breaks.

You simply can not go wrong with this, especially considering the mostly under $20 price tag. The case is NOT stainless as stated, only the back, the dedicated style band is a future problem as replacements cost about $15, reading the display, at too great of a viewing angle is not possible, there are the cons. The pros are it is well designed and nicely executed, not at all cheap looking, it's lightweight, and has a illumination feature. Ability to keep time in 2 time zones is nice as well, as are the alarm features. Controls/ functions are clearly marked and split between 4 exterior buttons. It's not perfect, but it is a lot of bang for your buck. So far waterproofing seems aok, as showers and work in a commercial kitchen have not caused any problems. I would actually like to see a higher end version of this watch, something that you could keep for years, because it really is a pretty good digital timepiece.

I couldn't believe the watch I was wearing 10, 15 or even maybe 20 years ago is still available, new, today ! I ordered one and I love it. I have tried other models like the F91W, F105W, or W800H. I found the W800H to be too bulky. The F91W/F105W are a bit small to my taste, and they are harder to read. The W96H is just per-fect : easy to read, excellent size for my wrist, 4 buttons for intuitive operation... perfect. Only wish is that they would replace the dual-time function with a countdown timer, and the LED backlight with an EL backlight like on the F105W. But for 99% of day to day operation it really doesn't matter. The W96H also has a 5 bar / 50 meters water resistance which is good for swimming, unlike the F91W/F105W which has no rating and can only handle hand washing. The W800H has 10 bar rating so it can handle water powersports activities, but I don't plan to do any of that anytime soon. Agree with the other reviewers that the band design is bad and this is super unfortunate as this is what limited the lifetime of the watch for me too. I recycled my old watch to be used when traveling, it is in my toiletries bag. Some people also attach their old broken ones to their bicycle to have the time. You will find a use for it if/when it breaks ! That's a keeper for sure !

Noticed the larger numbers on this model so I ordered one. Casio is great and makes solid watches. It is a smaller case than what I usually were. Seems like a 38 or 39. The numbers take up most of the screen so I can easily check the time or stop watch while jogging or bike riding. It's simple and easy to read. Has a comfortable strap and is cheap I love it.
