Works great for writing out the chords between lines of music
I originally bought a larger 4-fret stamp, but it was too large, so I bought this one, and so far, it has worked great. It is too small to identify which finger to use on each 'dot', but that is not an issue, I know which fingers to use, I just sometimes forget which fret and which string, and this takes care of that very well.

proper rubber stamp and imo, best size (small)
I do feel I ought have gotten two different fret boards for the cost, this small one and the larger one, but 2024 and capitalism takes its toll on everything.Once upon a time, these small 5-fret fretboard rubber stamps were easy to find, and easily affordable, i.e. when minimum wage was $4.35 an hour they were under $1.00 in some places and at $1.00 in others. At the guitar shops where I lived in South Carolina, anyway. If you, as I, lost your rubber stamp from back in the day, or had it stolen, this will do the trick. My one, I had pulled it off the wooden block, b/c the wooden block is not the best way to get an exact alignment, and secured it on to a wonderful sealing wax stamp that was the exact perfect size, and whilst those things were everywhere in the 1960s and 70s, they are nowhere to be found, so atm am dealing with the inaccuracy of the wooden block. The important thing is that this is genuinely a rubber stamp, that takes up ink as a rubber stamp ought, that performs as a rubber stamp does. I bought a couple of different self inking stamps and naw. they're 1.) too big/the wrong size, impossible to align without inordinate effort, even after I marked them with arrows so I'd "know" where the bottom of the fretboard was. Just nightmare. This stamp, in contrast, is small enough to use in a wide variety of settings, has 5 frets so you can really indicate the notes you need, and used with a good ink stamp pad, this is the way, the truth, the light. Even back in the day they came on these blocks, which I don't much fancy, but still way easier to use than those dreadful "self-inking" things. This replaces my stolen fret stamp that I had for more than 40 years. Am right sure the "self-inking" things I got will not last 5 years, and there's no way to re-ink once it's dried up. I expect this rubber stamp shall last me to the end of days, provided I don't lose it, and no one nicks it!PS: you need to buy an ink stamp pad to use this. Ink stamp pads can be re-inked, so also last a virtual forever.

Useful for helping my students understand shapes on the neck.
This is useful for helping my students understand shapes on the neck. I keep it handy during lessons when I want to quickly diagram a chord shape, arpeggio, or scale. It is also useful for adding diagrams to sheet music. I do this sometimes for a classical piece to help visualize when the music of a given measure comes from a chord shape. This facilitates understanding the entire measure rather than individual notes. It often accelerates memorizing a piece. This is also useful during a guitar class when you want to quickly notate a new fingering.

Cute, perfect sized stamp
The other stamps I looked at were too big to be used easily between grand staffs. This one is oerfect

Mini guitar chord stamp by stampola
This item arrived and was half the size that I expected it to be.When used you can hardly see the thing it's so small and distorted in shape.I consider it the worse thing I have ever purchased from amazon and it was a complete waste of money,I shall probably throw it in the trash and will never buy anything from this company again,I should have sent it back immediately but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried it out, what a fool I was.

Right size for standard size printed music
Perfect size for most manuscript paper to add chord diagrams in between staff lines or along the margins. Also works with most printed music, like piano arrangements, to add the chords for guitarists.
