KILMAT 80 mil 18 sqft Car Sound Deadening Mat, Butyl Automotive Sound Deadener, Audio Noise Insulation and dampening

This is my 2nd order for this same material. It adheres well and definately controls sound. Consider 36 sq ft necessary for a proper basic job on a full size car or SUV. I used part of this on a different project, used the rest to perform about a 40% coverage on the inside of the exterior door panels and some basic treatment of some areas in the back of my SUV. Significant improvement. More to be done, I recommend this material

This material works great and is easy to install. I used a heat gun to heat it before applying to my 75 chevy floor, which made it plyable and easy to mold to the shape of the floor. Holds down great.

I bought a box of this deadener to do the liftgate on my 2015 Jeep Compass. I only have a 12” powered sub, not super loud or anything. I just wanted to reduce/eliminate rattles in the cargo area. I only put this on the plastic lift gate panel, but I might go back and put another layer on the metal. It’s thin enough where you can go over the holes where the plastic clips onto the metal door panel, and then partially cut the holes out to add some extra gripping power for the clips. Just make sure to cut/clear the holes out enough so the clips can go through without bending. But it’s still thick enough to work well to reduce vibrations. Would I use it in a vehicle with a huge system that needed extensive deadening? Maybe not for the main layer. There might be better products on the market for that. But as a secondary or alternative layer for smaller panels or areas? Absolutely. Or if your system is smaller like mine and your sound deadening needs are less severe, this product is just fine for you. Basically, you wanna approach your deadening like your system. If your system is high wattage, high dollar, don’t skimp on your deadening. Get the best product you can. If your system is budget or mid level, this product will work just fine for you if you use it right. I’d recommend buying a set of rollers in the 3 main sizes for sure. Putting on deadening without them is both difficult and less effective. And the different sizes make a huge difference, even for a smaller project like mine.

Slightly thinner than claimed when measure (roughly 1.6-1.8mm average, claiming to be 2mm) but functions as designed and performs well. Although, AmazonBasics version is half the price, worked just as well for me and averaged 2mm+. So I believe 4 stars is appropriate. The quality is good, the value is not.

Great job on noise reduction and sound balancing for my truck. Doors are more solid and less road noise in cabin. Easy to trim to fit and application was pretty foolproof. 10/10 will use again

I used it on all the sheet metal on the forced air furnace in my basement, and shaved off 20dB! This stuff works great and is great to work with.

Works great at keeping outside noises outside and inside noises inside. I had a hard plastic roller about 4 inches wide and used that to really push it onto the interior sheet metal. I'm talking I hard pressure, hard enough the square indentations are mostly all flat

Good product to start your vanbuild

Easy to cut and install, the material sticks onto surfaces very well, even without hot air. Dampens sound as it's supposed to. Although I bought two packs, one was enough to cover all 4 doors of an audi avant.
