Good for your immune system. Easy to take. No taste.

I take 2 in the morning on an empty stomach. No queasiness so I continue to do it this way since the bottle doesn’t mention with or without food. I started taking these because I had a nasty bout of the flu for 10 days and had to take acetaminophen which isn’t great for the liver. My family has a history of liver disease so I was feeling anxious and wanted to take something beneficial for the liver. I read online that NAC and milk thistle were good liver supplements so figured there would be no harm in taking these. Aside from the strong smell when taking these pills, I feel great, though maybe it’s placebo.

Update: I had to stop taking them. I didn’t feel side effects from the first bottle that were pungent. This second order were darker and nonpungent, but I kept getting headaches in my forehead, my forehead felt tight, and something difficult to explain with my eyelids. I could draw a line from my forehead to my nose, that would specifically point out the areas where my eyelids felt tingly and almost numb. It was scary, because I was afraid I was going to wake up with paralyzed eyelids. After I discontinued use, That feeling has mostly subsided. I may try again at a later date, just to confirm that this is the source of the issues. If the adverse effects were perhaps mild drowsiness, I would keep taking them, because they weirdly kept my OCD in check, without all the space feelings. I’m really sorry this didn’t work out, because I otherwise loved them. Previous review: I don’t know how to rate this. This is my second order of NAC, and I bought both from this company. I opened the first bottle (LOT# 20-119; EXP 09/2022) and the capsules were white, and they had the classic strong rotten-egg odor the entire time I used them. This order (LOT#20-369; EXP 09/2022), I opened them up, they were yellow-tinged, and I could barely smell the odor. I read so much input online that said the pungent odor is supposed to be there, and it is indicative of freshness and peak quality. Then I read one that said just the opposite: the odor is NOT supposed to be present, and if it smells, it meant they have gone bad. I don’t want to send them back, because I’ve already sent some pills back and I don’t want Amazon thinking I’m trying to scam them. But I will be doing my research as I continue to take these, and I will be looking for another brand. Because either way, ONE of these orders are bad. The question moving forward is which one? I need to know what to expect on my next order. Frankly, I didn’t notice much improvement with my last order, so we’ll see.

I give it to my whole family when they first start feeling sick. I'm a school nurse and constantly exposed to germs, I take a serving size every 4 hours when I wake up with a sore throat or the minute my symptoms come on. It works AMAZING. I haven't had to take anyone in my family to the doctors in over 2 years because this helps cut a cold time in half, and keep it from developing into an infection.

Gave it 3 stars because of the rotten smell as soon as you open it. Contacted the company and the reason for the smell is the sulphur it contains. I appreciate their fast reply. Sulphur is good for you but it sure stinks! I have bought other NAC supplements with no smell at all. Was wondering if this one is so stinky because it also has glutathione in it. Will try opening the jar waiting for a while for the smell to dissipate. Smell is very important to me and cannot accept rotten, stinky, awful ones, it can be a blessing or a curse but that is me. I did read one review that addressed the rotten smell but there were others that did not even mentioned it so thought well maybe that one was the smelly one, but no! Will research the benefits of sulphur and see how it goes, was not aware that NAC or glutathione contain sulphur. Another learning experience.
