A must for anyone who eats a plant based diet.
I eat a (vegan) plant based diet & let me tell you, nutritional yeast flakes are a must! Whenever I start to run out of them, a bit of panic comes over me (lol). I live in a rural area and it can prove frustrating to find them here, at times. Often, I drive to our nearest Whole Foods Co-op but don't always have the time for the 160 mile roundtrip. So, I was pretty excited to find this product on Amazon, and with Prime, 2 day shipping!I use nutritional yeast flakes on our popcorn, in soups, lasagna, to make homemade vegan cheese, Alfredo sauce, garlic toast, garlic alfredo pizza topping, on and on. Like I already mentioned, it's pretty much a must in our household. There's not much you can't get (nutritionally) through the vegan diet, except vitamin B12. This one is a tough one. However, using these nutritional yeast flakes can help in this matter, as it contains B vitamins, B12 being one of them. That being said, I still choose to supplement with B12, as I don't want to take a chance with my health. Damage from a vitamin B12 deficiency is non reversible, so please, if you're vegan, or Mr wanting to try being one, take a B12 supplement. These nutritional yeast flakes come in a fairly good sized jar, it will last me awhile. They are of good quality and I am happy with them. Overall, good product.

It's the cheesiest!
I had read about nutritional yeast, and decided to give it a try for its health benefits. The package arrived in good condition, but I was not able to unscrew the cap, no matter how hard I tried! I work out, I have visible biceps, but I could not budge this lid! I finally had to cut the safety liner out through the holes in the cap. However, once that inconvenience was taken care of, I tasted the product, and I'm in love! It really does taste like a nice, medium-sharp cheddar. I made some eggplant fries and sprinkles this on, and it was like coating with Parmesan, only with a distinctly cheddar-like bite! The texture was also nice...a small flake which melts easily into a creamy substance, rather like...well....cheese! The serving size is way more than you would need to sprinkle on top of something. I weighed my serving, and stopped at 2 grams. That was plenty. I think I would only ever use the full serving if I were going to make some sort of cheese sauce. So this makes it a reasonable value on top of being very tasty!

Yummm
I've had nutritional yeast once before in the form of a "Mac and Chreese"-in-a-box product and loved it. While it wasn't as much cheesy as it was garlicky, I had high hopes that "nooch" could satisfy the instinctual human need for Velveeta-style "cheeze". I could never find it at a grocery store OR a health store so I finally ordered this on Amazon.Wow. Yeah, I said wow. I used this in a recipe for "Cheeze Sauce" that was fat-free and it was amazing. Plus it had tons of protein, fiber, and of course the illustrious vitamin B-12! There are other similar recipes that call for LOTS of margarine that sound even cheesier and richer. This bottle lasted me about 2 recipes with a little leftover for sprinkling, so if you're new to cooking with nutritional yeast this is a good size to start with. I've since bought a 22-oz container of a different brand, but this brand is just as good.In conclusion...buy this, make lots of cheeze/chreese or any intentional misspelling of "cheese" you desire, be nice to animals and get 150% of your daily value of B-12.

Painless nutrition
I have used the Vegetarian form of this nutritional yeast for about 5 yrs now. I needed more, and was making other purchases on Amazon, so I added it to my cart. The reason that it got a 4 Star (rather than a 5) is because it is nearly 4 dollars more than at my local health food store. The product does not impart detectable flavor to my baked goods, and it has no odor. I sprinkle it into just about everything, from homemade chocolate-nut-dried- fruit bars to cookies, breads, and granola. This is a great way to boost the nutritional value of foods and our grandchildren are benefiting from it, just as our children did while growing up. I add this to meatball and to meatloaf mixtures as well. I recommend using flax meal as well, and wheat germ (if you are not wheat sensitive). If you are into making foods more nutritional, then do give this a try.

Great tasting nutritional yeast!
I have been buying 'good tasting nutritional yeast' for over 3 decades. I started using it in college to sprinkle on vegetable or on my popcorn (my 30 year old son will not eat popcorn unless it's made the way I make it with this....). I recently moved to a new city and have been challenged to find it in bulk close to my home. So I tried this. Just as good as the bulk nutritional yeast I've been using for years. Mind you it doesn't take just like cheese but has it's own lightly nutty taste and given I also put butter and a variety of other spices on whatever I'm putting it on ~ from cayenne, to Spike, to black pepper it tastes great to me!

Great B vitamins supplement
If you're buying this product you probably already know what it is. However if you don't - It's not the same as Brewer's yeast. It's used by vegans to to ensure that they get enough B vitamins specifically. Although I'm no longer vegan I still use this product because I just feel better when I do. I would recommend it to people who's schedule or work hours are causing them to be fatigued. In my opinion it really helps. Some people sprinkle it over food. I prefer mine mixed in a glass of orange juice or in a smoothie. What would be nice is if in the product description there was a copy of the nutritional information. That way customers could see what a great supplement it really is.
