The media could not be loaded. Pump arrived in good condition and installed easily. Primed the pump and drew water from drive point well.

Works well but not great.
Not the best quality but it does pump water as advertised. Overall, I am satisfied with what I got for the price.

Don't Buy This. Poor Casting Quality and Piston Design
Don't Buy This. Poor Casting Quality and Piston Design. The unit I bought had a casting defect in the pump cylinder causing it to leak. If that weren't the problem, I still would have had to buy a Simmons replacement piston assembly because the one in this pump is a very bad design and would fail in a short time.

Bad pump vs user error
I gave this 3 stars as I'm not entirely sure yet if there was user error or a bad device.I decided to be a hand dug sand point well on my property. I bought this pitcher pump in July 2022. By hadn dug, I decided to hand auger with a great device down to 10 feet and convert to post pounder and sledge at that point. Neighboring properties hit water at 9-13 feet so thought that was a good plan. My soil is sandy loam and the first 8-10 feet was a breeze, but no water yet. If I started pounding or sledging then I risk losing a well point or pipe I can't get back up, so I decided to keep adding extensions and hand augering to 15 ft. That was a ton of work, working through a short layer of clay and dealing with extension rods took a long long time. I got it down to 15 ft - still no water and had to pause due to life and winter. I got back to it this year, converted to pounding and hit water at 18 feet and then went a couple of feet deeper. I grabbed this pump out of my shed to get started and screwed it on, did a prime and gave it a few pumps noting zero pumping resistance. Ok, the pump sat from Jul 2022 to Jul 2023 in my shed so soaked it in a bucket of water for 8 hours. Pulling it out of bucket after 8 hours I noticed all the water ran out even with the handle up from the bottom in the seam of the base. So, I soaked it a full day.... still noticing the same issue but mounted and tried it anyway... no go, no resistance after priming, would not hold water, all running down the pipe or coming out of the seam. Disappointed, I brought the pump home and disassembled. See attached pictures. The condition of the leathers and the machining of the inner circle on the base does not seem like what one should expect of sitting for a year. Maybe I ruined it letting it sit a year so I gave 3 star. Though the machining, the condition of the internals, etc makes me think that's not totally my fault. I could buy new leathers, but the inner circle on the based has a lot of pits and valleys and isn't machined flush. I just don't trust it and I really set out originally to use a Merrill pump and bought it here on Amazon last year. If others have input whether I caused it or if it looks like bad product, then I'd adjust my stars.
