omg i hate this thing. lolz jp
i'm not a pro painter, and i dont have a pinterest famous blog in dyi'ing or anything like that.im just a regular guy who paints a room every now and then. I unfortunately had to move 3 times in the last 3 years, and i like color on my walls. 2 paint jobs ago i told myself, there's gotta be a better way. I suck at painting via traditional roller method. yes, there are right ways to do it, no, i dont know them or care much to try and figure it out. hence this thing."omgosh i hate this thing why isn't perfect". i dont know, nor do i care, i just know i painted a 12 by 12 room a light green color with it, and i'm very happy with the results. solid color on the walls, much faster, much less manual labor that i really freaking hate.did i mention its not perfect? here's a heads up on what i experienced out of the box / some advice- thin your paint, figure it out. or not, maybe that'll work for you. i was happy with 30-40 seconds clearance in the drippy thing.- really thin paint will drip out the top of the paint container while painting, even with it secured/screwed in tight. it'll also drip down the walls, and that's sucksville x infinity- work on your technique and figure out spray patterns. not every spot in a room will fare well with the same pattern or motion.- passing over again before drying worked for me. like, horizontal spray an area and doing quick passes over it again before moving on worked. i only even started doing that because i noticed when one wall dried, i had light spots that needed coverage. doing this pass over before drying didn't require i give a second coat later. i painted a white wall with good paint though.- that's right, i didn't give it a second coat and it looks solid. (DIY blogger demi god's) "be still our blogging hearts! no second coat!"- it gets heavy, use both hands if needed.about cleaning- yes, its paint gun, that means you need to clean it. "omg but why it should clean itself because ...". nope, just hit the kitchen sink, tub, wherever. there's just a couple parts to clean, small ones, but not small where it'll like fall down the drain or something and ruin your day, i think its like 3 or 4 parts. took me like 5-10 minutes.- one down fall, i needed to clean often. first round of spraying lasted 10 minutes before needing to clean, another round i was able to finish 2 whole walls. it varies, but you'll figure it out, cuz you're so smart ;)- put tarp, canvas, what ever drop cloth you use down, this thing doesn't mess your floors up, but it does generate a fine mist that i felt land on my floors. a simple mopping later with hot water and cleaner worked fine, i mean i would've done that anyway.why 5 stars?because i really hate painting via roller, and i finished an entire room is much less time, and well, that ish be awesome. yes, i had to clean it often, but seriously, i mean for real, its paint, you're cleaning up regardless. also, cleaning the gun is easier labor than rolling in my opinion. plus im broke and this thing was cheap. do it up.

Fast, Even Coverage – Wagner Spraytech Makes Staining a Breeze!
The Wagner Spraytech Control Spray Double Duty has been a fantastic addition to my DIY tool collection. It’s perfect for tackling both indoor and outdoor projects with ease. I used it for staining my deck and sealing some wood furniture, and the results were impressive—smooth, even coats without brush marks, and it saved me tons of time compared to manual application. The HVLP sprayer is easy to set up and adjust, so getting the right flow and coverage is straightforward. It handles both thin stains and thicker sealers well, providing a consistent spray that’s easy to control. Cleanup was surprisingly simple, too; just a quick rinse, and it was good as new. If you’re looking to make staining and sealing projects faster and easier with professional results, this Wagner sprayer is a fantastic investment. Highly recommend for DIYers and home improvement enthusiasts!

Good value, simple to use
I purchased this to stain our kids' playset in the backyard. I'm so glad I did! This made the job so much quicker. It was easy to use, good directions, and fast shipping. I've never used one of these previously, and was able figure it out in 5 minutes. For a pretty large playset, I was able to fully stain in a couple hours (and this was taking my time to do a pretty heavy coat, since I only wanted to do one coat!). I used water-based stain/sealant, then did another coat with polyuerathane. No issues with either liquid. The only drawback to this little guy is that it is, as noted, little. So it requires refilling the included receptacle (of note, there are 2 receptacles included, but I only used the bigger one) every 1/3 can of paint/stain. However, when it's full, it's somewhat heavy. It wasn't too heavy that I couldn't wield it easily, but I mention this only because any larger and it might have been too heavy for me when full.

Great starter HVLP
Bought this to speed up remodelling a rental and it was much faster and neater than brushing and much cheaper than cans of spray paint (and much more versatile for color selection than cans). I painted walls, desk, table, chairs, hardware, and other items. I have gone through about three gallons of various paints and polyurethane (water based) with no problems. The spray patterns are adequate for most applications (obviously not as tight as the more expensive HVLP guns but good for the average homeowner/hobbyist paint job). One key to remember is that if you paint something and you aren't going to be spraying for half an hour or so you will probably need to clean the spray tip insert as the paint/polyurethane will dry. It's a scientific fact you can't ignore - paint dries and hardens over a relatively short period of time. I prepped a lot of items, lined them up and sprayed almost constantly for over two hours with no failures or clogs. When I went to lunch for 45 minutes I had to clean the tip before it would spray - no big deal. The paint thinning process takes a little while, so I will genarally thin enough medium for the whole day's painting before I start then fill one of the two tanks as needed. If I had left over pain in the tank at the end of a day I stretched a nitrile glove over the top of the removed tank and the paint was still fine the next day. If you are using water based polyurethane mine required no thinning, but I had to adjust the spray down so it wouldn't run.The cord is long enough for spraying in a small area but if you will be spraying in a larger area you will need an extension cord.If you are a professional painter you probably won't be satisfied with this, but for the average homeowner, hobbyist or landlord with only a unit or two, this will speed up your painting and give a nicer finish than brushing or rolling. It is an excellent beginning sprayer. Take care of it and it will serve you well.
