Great phone, I've only had it for alil over ...
Great phone, I've only had it for alil over a month and its great, battery life it awesome, can go 3 days on a single charge. Picture quality is amazing. I love it. Update after 1 year of use when I try to open an app it opens the top pull down menu and opening apps I did not click on - sucks that you can't calibrate the screen and my last sony has a pop up saying IUD system stopped and my phone never worked again and now this one is doing the same thing.

Great Camera Phone
The phone comes with good camera features and both front and back sides have high res lenses for 16:9 with 9 mega pixels (13 MP only for 4:3) The battery last for just 1 day. Not 2 as it claimed. Overall I'm pleased with it.

5 star to 1 star after 12 months of ownership!
UPDATE: 3-21-17 My original 5 star review is now a 1 star review. I've owned this phone for a year and it's been terrible. The touch screen is glitchy and unresponsive. I sometimes have to touch the screen 3 or 4 times to get it to respond. (A google search reveals many other users have had the same issue) Enabling "glove mode" is a workaround...but then EVERY touch registers...so if I have it in my pocket and I get a text or call, the screen comes on and it registers and a million "touches" while in my pocket...causing the phone to go crazy and lock up. Also the phone became so laggy a few weeks ago that it was completely unusable. I don't understand how an octacore processor with 2 GB of RAM could get that laggy after 11 months. I have just 4 apps installed and run the OS clean...so I am at a loss for the lag. Also the camera became so painfully slow that you miss the shot every time. I actually stopped using the camera altogether. About 6 months into ownership I upgraded from Kit Kat to Marshmallow. It made the camera slightly faster (still unusable) but introduced new problems with text messaging and voice recognition. Last week I performed a full factory reset on the phone and have just two 3rd party apps installed. It's running fast and responsive again but all the other issues mentioned above remain. I've never had to perform a factory reset on ANY phone I've ever owned. A huge disappointment. I expected more from Sony's midrange line up. I will not buy another Sony phone. Ever. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: I just bought the Xperia C5 Ultra a couple weeks ago from Amazon and I think the battery life is exceptional. I have the phone set for "stamina mode". I use the phone all day long at work and when I get home I still have 50% battery. That's a mix of YouTube Red, web browsing, checking email, watching videos stored on the SD card, and a few phone calls. The phone I had previous to this was the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. In that same usage scenario, the Galaxy Alpha was typically at 20% or less. And as far as the phone heating up...my previous Galaxy ran *a lot* warmer than the C5. A note about the Sony IPS screen vs. the AMOLED on my Samsung Galaxy. I thought I would miss the rich, oversaturated colors on the AMOLED...but I don't. I have the Sony IPS screen set to "Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2" and it's a little less saturated than the AMOLED and I am finding that I like it better. It's just a touch of saturation without being technicolor oversaturated. Sony's "Super-vivid mode" is just plain ridiculous...everything is SO oversaturated that it's cartoon-like. Overall, I absolutely LOVE this phone. For $299 I feel it's the deal-of-the-year for a 6" smartphone. LIKE: Huge screen Superb screen quality Great build quality Elegant looks Fast / no lag Beautiful photos from both cameras Good battery life DISLIKE Speaker is slightly tinny compared to my Galaxy Alpha "Super-vivid mode" screen setting has cartoon-like color saturation I splurged and bought the genuine Sony flip case cover for the phone (SCR10) off of eBay for $35. Although a lot to pay for a phone case, it has an extremely refined feel...and bumps up the phones elegant "black tie" looks a few more notches. I will try to remember to post an updated opinion after I use the phone for a month or two. I LOVE THIS PHONE!

Solid phone / tablet for a great price
I read a lot of reviews. Some said it was slow, others complained about the poor screen and battery life. Honestly, I've only had for one day, and I don't have a lot of apps to slow this phone down, but it feels as fast as my Note 4. I'm happy with screen quality. It's not the best out there and there is no comparison if you are looking at a 4K phone. It's still full HD. The battery is average. I don't think I'll ever have a phone that I wouldn't say I wish the battery was better. I have an IPhone 6 for work and the iPhone battery is terrible. So far this battery is better. This phone has a huge screen and it's easy to play on it a lot. Excessive use with the screen on is going to drain the battery in a half day but normal use it'll last at least a full day. Keep in mind this phone is new at $350 without contract. That is about half the price of a Samsung or Apple flagship phone. This is not the Sony flagship, but I think it holds its ground against the Note 4 and IPhone 6. If you want a 6 inch screen, this one is worth looking at. :) Update: I've now had the phone for about 10 days.I still love the screen and no complaints on battery. I did lower my rating to three stars. With all of my apps loaded, I am seeing the lag others have commented on. On occasion, the phone needs to be reset or apps are slow to open. I've even had a couple apps not open at all. For the price, this is still a solid device. You may need to restart the phone once maybe twice a day. Screen is great, camera picture quality is very good, and it is still one of the best 6" phones. It's probably a strong 3.5 stars but I can't rate it a 4 due to lag. If you don't load many apps, I think you will love this phone.
