I had the pleasure of selecting the Delicious Dim Sum: A Collection of Simple Chinese Dim Sum Recipes when it was available for free at Amazon. This short book contains a collection of 50 or so recipes for Chinese snacks. Most of them are familiar, some are not. The author avoids such exotica as steamed chicken feet, but does include some specialties from provinces other than Canton.The problem with Dim Sum is that it takes a lot of time and effort to prepare if you do more than one dish. A book like this really requires getting together with a bunch of friends in a really big kitchen to turn out a selection of dishes and then sitting down to a feast.

I've tried the recipes in this book and they are quite good. Definitely very easy to make and great for the beginning Dim Sum maker. Excellent pictures of the finished product and some of their recipes had additions that were not in those I have been making. So adapting mine to incorporate these turned out to be quite a change.

We tried several recipes from this book and found them quite delicious. I wish the book was longer. I also wish it told us how to make wrappers instead of telling us that they are available in our local Asian grocery store. My local Asian grocery store is an hour away.

Nice book, although it could have used a final editing. For example, the instructions portion on several recipes leave out some of the ingredients. In addition, if you don't live near an Asian market, many of the recipes are going to go wanting. I admire the effort, however, and look forward to making my favorites, and trying some new ones. In these days of inexpensive color photograph reproduction, I was a little disappointed by the black and white pics. They aren't the best quality. But, that is a quibble.

I liked this. It starts with the basics and goes into the different ways Dim Sum are made. Goes beyond the very basic and into the tasty. Can't wait to try some of the recipes!

I made some of these appetizers for myself for dinner. Yummy and fun to make. I made substitutions here and there but they are good basic recipes.

This book offers a wide variety of Dim Sum - something for everyone. I liked it's simplicity and clear instructions for the novice.

Was very disappointed. The Look Inside preview showed color images of the various dim sum but the printed book have only black & white pictures.

The recipes are simple and direct enough for amateur cooks to follow but you will really miss the real dim sum from a restaurant for sure.

easier to use than I thought... if you love Dim Sum this is a good starter book.

Easy to understand recipes.

Some very delicious recipes though not as simple as they sound. Depending on your definition of simple; an hour to make is neither easy or simple.
