IC International Concepts Storage Box, 38", Unfinished

Our granddaughter turned 2 last August, and we purchased this toy box as a gift. Because it's going to sit out in their family room, we wanted something that was all wood and finished nicely. This was even better than we expected. Very nice wood. Unfinished, so you can paint it or stain it, but we left it natural. It's beautiful. Not difficult to assemble at all. The top stays open when you open it. You can even sit on it when it's closed. Would buy it again for another grandchild.

My husband really wanted this item to paint and put in the kids room. It came in pieces that he was able to paint and put together. There were no cracks or missing pieces. It’s a good size and the kids can sit on the top. We are considering getting some cushions. I gave it a four out of five due to pricing. It’s really expensive and I would have had my husband look for a different one if I knew this is what he was getting.

I have bought 17 pieces of furniture from International Concepts and they have been perfect, but these storage boxes are substandard. There's too many cracks to fix, even the lid is gouged. I'm hoping for third time lucky as far as these storage boxes go.

This would be a good toybox if they company that made them had good quality control. I got 2 sent to me. The first one had 2 split panels due to screws splitting the wood. 2 screws in one of the small strips that are used to join the sides were just loose in the box. The manufacturer put a DAMAGED PANEL in the box! The builder had to know it was damaged. It was that obvious. The front panel had deep cosmetic damage in 2 places that was equivalent to about 6 square inches. The 2nd toybox had similar damage but this would could actually be repaired. My husband fixed stripped screw holes with some bigger screws. 3 of the screw he replaced were bent. You could tell one of the strips on a side panel were hit very hard and knocked off during MANUFACTURING. I did keep the 2nd box because it was the 4th toybox attempt. The first never showed, second(different brand) was damaged significantly in shipping, third and fourth(int conc) was damaged by manufacturer. This toybox is nice IF you get one that is made correctly. Manufacturer needs to invest in quality control. By the way, its made in taiwan

I love this item! I stained it a light walnut color. We are currently using it for a toy box, and it is great. It is roomy, sturdy, and good looking. When the little grows out of the toy box stage, I am excited to transition this piece into another room. I haven't decided its next purpose, but it will be with us in some fashion; either in the entryway with a cushion or in a bedroom for linen storage.Seriously you guys. I wish I would have found this company earlier. I have ordered three pieces from them that I absolutely love and can't wait to add to my collection!

This was the third chest we purchased to put together for each of our grandchildren. The first one was wonderful and had no flaws. The second one had a crack in the wood, fortunately in an inconspicuous spot and because we often work with wood were able to fix it. The third one had two broken dowel pins which we had to remove and replace. If a person plans to stain and finish the wood it does finish very nicely but I recommend making sure to sand down really well first to remove any residual oils and glue, We are happy with the end result of all three, just wish we didn't have to fix them first.

This is a very nice toy chest. When it arrived I was upset to find the box had been torn open and the package with all the hardware in it was missing. I called the number on the instruction booklet and they mailed me the replacements that day - I had them withing 3 working days! We assembled the chest and my husband stained it. It is beautiful. The safety hinges work great so I don't have to worry about my grandson getting his fingers smashed. I would highly recommend this storage chest!

So the product seemed heavy and nice when I was taking it out of the package. I was so excited for this to come and one of the pieces was cracked in half! I'm sure it was a shipping thing but still disappointed. And the hassle of repacking it and getting a label was stressful. I'm trying to put a picture but not sure how.
