What's the capacity of the bowl in ounces?

Happy New Year! Sorry for the late answer. Spoon bowl is about 2 ounces, the ladle is about 4 ounces. I filled spoon and ladle until all around rim is full, then dumped water into Pyrex measuring cup. 2 spoons to make 4 oz, 1 ladle to also make 4 oz.

Do these oxo good grips nylon utensils have heavy handles? my current one has such a heavy handle it flips out of the bowl.

I've never had that problem. I will say, though, don't expect some kind of high quality / nice handle. It's all just one big molded piece of nylon.

The Oxo spoon is 13 1/2 inches long.

Is the spoon supposed to come apart? I just received mine and the two parts of the handle separate pretty easily.

No, I would send it back for a replacement. Mine does not come apart at all.
