Brilliant monitor if you don't need 4K, forget the speakers
Most of my screen time is spent in Firefox, Outlook and Word. I was concerned that changing to a 4K monitor would mean text that was too small to work with. The ASUS PA278CV monitor seemed to be a suitable. In fact, it's brilliant! Clear text, great definition, colours and connectivity, versatile stand and, a reasonable cost (Amazon) compared to 4K. I was also concerned that moving to a 27" from a 22" would be overkill for my small computer desk, but it's a perfect fit. I have reduced peripheral vsion on the right-hand side (hemianopia) but the width of the screen encourages me to scan to the right; a positive attribute that I hadn't expected. Downside? Speakers are quiet and fogetable apart from Windows system sounds. The supplied instructions use pictograms that are not the most informative. Written instructions can be downloaded at ASUS Download UK, and are almost essential. With those instructions I found two more USB-A ports on the side of the monitor. At the moment I'm using HDMI input, but I will be trying DP. The USB-C connection to a Samsung S8 tablet, automatically changed the tablet to DX mode and, the ASUS monitor produced a great version of the tablet screen. My Windows 10 set up with an ancient graphics card was happy to switch to 75Hz refresh, but the 11th gen Core i5 running Windows 11 in Intel UHD graphics will only run 64Hz. Neither computer will run HDR. I need to try the USB-C input as a KVM. There is also a free 3 month download of Adobe Creative Cloud to try.In summary, I couldn't be happier and, it looks good with the nearby ASUS ET12 router.Update 1 September 2024As with all of my ASUS kit, it has performed faultlessly. I'm a stroke lived-experience person for several Universities and the Stroke Association, and that means 90 minute Zoom or Teams sessions using separate speakers and a webcam. Additionally, DESNZ webinars on Net Zero. The height adjustment is superb for that, and again, I never have dry eyes or eye strain at the end of those sessions, although I am certified as sight impaired.

Right on color for production and good for everyday content with Type C
The Asus ProArt PA279CV is a great choice for content creators. It offers accurate image quality, high brightness, and USB-C with 65W Power Delivery. The menu settings allow for easy calibration, and it’s competitively priced. However, the design is basic, luminance uniformity could be better, and HDR performance is underwhelming. Overall, it’s a solid monitor for professionals on a budget.

Turned out to be the best decision I made in 2022.
As a professional photographer, I've always been on the lookout for a monitor that could deliver exceptional color accuracy without breaking the bank. The ASUS PA24AC has been an absolute revelation, offering a combination of high-end features and an unbeatable price that makes it a true value for money.Initial Setup and ConnectivityI have been using this monitor since 2022 March with my Mac Studio. Initially the mac wasn't very keen on working picking this up, and had trouble in the beginning to get it work with just USB-C. After a couple of months USB-C started working reliably. I still have an additional HDMI to USB-C adapter connected to its HDMI port just because I ocassionally want to connect it with my macbook or windows machine.Exceptional Color AccuracyFor photographers, color accuracy is the cornerstone of our work, and the ASUS PA24AC delivers in spades. Covering 100% of the sRGB color gamut and boasting factory calibration, this monitor ensures that my photos are displayed with the utmost precision and vibrancy. Every nuance of color is faithfully reproduced, allowing me to make informed editing decisions and achieve the look I envision for my work.Ideal Screen Size for My WorkspaceThe 24-inch screen size of the ASUS PA24AC is perfect for my workspace, providing ample real estate for editing and viewing my photos without feeling overwhelming. The monitor's slim bezels further enhance the viewing experience, creating a sense of immersion that draws me into my creative process.Exceptional Value for MoneyWhen I first stumbled upon the ASUS PA24AC, I was skeptical that a monitor at this price point could deliver such exceptional performance. However, after using it extensively, I can confidently say that it has surpassed my expectations. The combination of color accuracy, screen size, and affordability makes it an unbeatable value for money, especially for photographers and other creative professionals who demand high-quality visuals without the hefty price tag.Overall AssessmentThe ASUS PA24AC has been a game-changer for my photography workflow. Its exceptional color accuracy, perfect screen size for my workspace, and unbeatable value for money make it an indispensable tool for any creative professional seeking a high-performance monitor that doesn't compromise on quality or affordability. I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for an exceptional display without breaking the bank.

don't waste you money and time, you will want to return it
- on windows it will only support HDR mode over HDMI (yes, support confirmed it).- in HDR mode it will turn on fan and make a noise as a vacuum cleaner, if you wear noise cancelling headphones, you can use it.- being connected to Windows, the monitor will only support PQ BT2020.- Windows will not get the colours very accurately, but you cannot calibrate it because:- Calibration will require Thunderbolt connection, but it does not support HDR on Windows. All in All - it somehow works, it does some HDR. It is loud like hell and colours are FAR from Pro grade. One good thing about this monitor - the screen has serious potential, there is almost Zero angle dependence in colour response. This monitor is a joke.I''m proceeding with return.
