Perfect for keeping cats out of your couch and iguanas at the pool.
They originally purchased to keep the cat out of the couch. We have reclining couches, and she keeps going into the couch. Works perfect. Now, we have the iguanas going in the pool. So I put this above the top stair to keep the iguanas out of the pool. I put it near the stairs. It is working perfectly. Next, i'm going to wrap my trees with them to keep iguanas out of my trees. If I could afford it, I would put them around the perimeter of my house, that would get pricey, as we have three quarters of an acre. But I bet it would work. So far, there's no problem with them quality wise because they've been outside for a long time.

Keeps cats out
It’s been working great so far! No cats pooping in my flowerbed now!

Worked for awhile
This worked well for my curious cat who liked climbing a tree to escape our backyard. However, after a month or so, the temptation became too great and she braved the spikes to again achieve freedom. I’ve tried adding more bands of this barrier around the tree but it’s still not deterring her; now that she knows she can overcome it, she just presses on.It is high quality, easy to cut, etc. Lots of flexibility in different ways you can attach it to things. Best of luck to you all.

UNBELIEVABLY FUNCTIONAL!!
THIS IS MY SECOND PURCHASE. THE CATS NEED A CONSTANT REMINDER TO STAY OFF THE FLOWERS! THIS GETS THE JOB DONE AND DOESN'T HURT THE ANIMALS. IT IS LIGHT WEIGHT AND EASY TO CUT WITH KITCHEN SCISSORS BEFORE LAYING ABOUT IN THE FLOWER BED. SOME SMALL ROCKS WILL SECURE THE ITEM..COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE!

Waste of time and money
UPDATE: I raised the rating because I found another use than what this is intended for. Though this is actually useless for keeping feral cats at bay, I found it useful to attach with clips to the back of my sling back patio chairs. Birds regularly like to perch on the back of them, which usually isn’t a big deal. Don’t make a mess because they are only on them for a few seconds. But I now have a flock of Common Grackles around who not only quickly clean out the feeders, they perch on everything…and leave far too many droppings. Everywhere. These keep them off the back of the patio chairs. It also seems to deter (for now) squirrels curious about my potted Meyer Lemon tree, also on the patio. (Raccoons, however, are another matter. Metal Chicken screening needed around the tree for them!) These are sturdy, yet flexible enough to bend without breaking. I am buying another roll.If you want to use this product outside and want it to lie flat, just use ground staples or tent stakes to keep it in place. 😉PREVIOUS REVIEW: People here think because we’re in a warm climate it’s fine to let their cats roam outside at night. Absolute killing machines; their instinct is to swipe/grab anything that moves. I’m an animal lover; I would *never* allow my pet to roam loose at night and subject them to being injured/infected by raccoons, bobcats, coyotes, etc. Just plain stupid. I don’t want my yard to be a litter box/killing field!I tried every natural deterrent known to man to get them to stay away, to no avail. This product stinks. Does nothing…they walked right over it.Time to buy a trap.

Great product
It keeps dogs and cats from digging anywhere you put it they step on it once and they never go back. It does not hurt them but it gets their attention.

Easy to use and works for dogs, too
Also works great for my 6lb Maltese. I use it to keep her from climbing my stairs to the second floor and getting on certain furniture pieces.

Good, but one main issue
Got this to put on top of my gerbil's tank to deter my foster cat and it worked like a charm! I had to use twist ties and duct tape it to the lid so the only downside is that it is pretty curved up and doesn't lay flat which can be pretty annoying for what you are trying to use it for. Doesn't hurt cats, just makes them avoid it.
