Dorman 911-039 Vapor Canister Purge Valve Compatible with Select Models

Bought this from my S-10 after it started showing a code for a leak. This does the job perfectly and my truck is running smoother.

I’m not a mechanic by any means, but if I can plainly see the part that needs replacing I give it a go. I had it on in 25 minutes, the error code went away and I probably saved myself $150 or more….

My items works and good condition, when they have arrived .

On a 2001 Chevy Express van, the hardest part was getting the engine compartment opened and closed (you have to take most of the dash apart). Once I got access to the engine bay, it was very quick to remove the old one and replace it with this. Immediately afterwards, my Check Engine Light disappeared.

Replacement takes you less than 10 minutes and it replaces an old and worn out purge valve that helps your vehicle's EVAP operate correctly. If your EVAP system is giving you codes and your check engine light comes on from this one purge valve malfunction, this is a easy under-the-hood fix. Don't forget you will have another valve that's near the gas tank area of your vehicle that may be giving you some trouble too. Those are relatively cheap as this valve is and may need to be replaced along with this one too.

The media could not be loaded.  I checked the item with my vacuum pump as soon as it arrived and it held pressure. But, almost immediately after installing the new purge valve, the diaphragm blew and my error code came back. It's not an "end of the world" code, and I was on the road, so I took my sweet time to remove the item to give it a proper check.. just enough time that my return window had closed.Look, I know how precarious these items are... I went to autozone and tried out 3 evap purge valves and each had a busted diaphragm... It's just how these things are. But, I wish I could return this item for a new, working one instead of having to out right buy myself a new one. That sucks.

It arrived quick, and packaged good. Nice and brand new, I still have evap issues with my dads 2004 sierra, I think its either the filler neck (holes and/or gas cap) or the fuel tank pressure sensor, need to narrow that down soon.
