Buy this razor!
Great shave! Trufitt&hill pre shave oil, dollar shea shave butter, 1 st pass on setting 5, 2nd on 2. Smooth as silk. Razor way too expensive but it was a gift to myself. Based on shave results I was worth it. Sits great in hand, knurling gives great control. Outstanding machining.

Excellent adjustable razor
I have several adjustable razors. Gillette Fatboy, Slim, Super Adjustable, Blackland Osprey, but this is my favorite adjustable razor. Aggressive on the higher settings which I like. Great shaver and built like a tank. If a nuclear bomb hits my house, this razor will be the only thing left.

Great Adjustable Razor
I own several adjustable Razors. They are as follows: 1983 Gillette Black Beauty, Parker Variant, Rockwell 6C , Murker Variant, and the Rex Ambassador. The Rex is by far my favorite! The quality is exceptional and it gives me the closest shave out of all my razors. It is expensive, however for me it was well worth the price. If I could only have one razor this would be my go to! With that being said, the Murker is also a great performer and a good alternative at a substantial cost savings.

Wasted money
I had high hopes for it as I've read so many great reviews. However, this is what my experience was. The blades do not align with the alignment bumps. The bumps do not protrude enough to align the blade so the blade shift around and is actually dangerous to use. If I could give it zero stars I would. It's unsafe to use even once. I Intend to throw it out as I've already thrown out the box it came in and cannot return it. I would cut my throat with the thing if I used it. The one I got is actually dangerous to use. See picture: consistently misaligns the blade with one side slightly more prominent than the other side. Multiple blades tried so it is the razor not the blades. Will reach out to the manufacturer... They need to address the quality control problem before someone gets hurt.

Unbelievable razor!
While the price is a bit steep, you’ll get a great ROI! Other electric razors have high price points, but a great wet shave is unbeatable. I’ve been shaving over 45 years with DE razors. I’ve used many, but this razor is in a sophisticated class of its own. The weight feels classy, the curves are sexy, and the adjustments include all beard types. I especially like the knurled handle. I’m a cancer survivor, so the handle helps me to hold the razor better than I could with other similar styles. I was on the fence before buying this razor until I found out Matt Pisarcik (Razor Emporium) was part of the inspiration behind the instrument. After I dug a bit deeper, I was impressed with REX shaving supply company and was “all in!” I’m very proud to own this razor, the inspiration & vision behind it, and the vintage shave experience it offers. Well done!

AAA quality BUT LACKS IN MECHANICS
I will write a very honest review, since I don't write often reviews. PROS: Quality of stainless steel. One of the best in the market if not the best. Serial number engraved. You can visit their website and see when it was assembled (year and quarter). Only company that does that. Grip. The grip is unbeatable. Even if you have a tonne of cream or soap in your hand it goes nowhere. A huge plus. The switch. Very solid and it goes up to 6.5. CONS: The Mechanics of the cap and the safety bar UNACCEPTABLE. It gets really aggressive and you have to use 1.5 to 2 on the adjustable bar. I am saying this since I have a 20 years experience using open comb DE RAZORS and STRAIGHT RAZOR Blades. For me that part plays 70% when rating a safety razor. I makes it a NO NO for a beginner or an intermediate level of shaving skills. Value for money? No way you should honestly do a better job when you can have adjustable safety razors for under 100 bucks that are a lot better in mechanics. A Rockwell 6S is a good choice if you are willing to spend $100, which I use. I also use a merkur slant and my favorite is Muhle 41 R. I have tried it with different razorblades in order to write a fair review and I was always proved wrong as much as I wanted to keep it I am returning it. I tried it with Feather 3 times, with KAI 2 times, and once by: Merkur, Parker, Derby, Astra, Gillette Blue, and Wilkinson. I am returning it tomorrow. I will wait for a couple of years and I will buy it again since it has a lot of pros, and as I have read a couple of reviews the fix things, hopefully the mechanics of the razor become better.

It's a tool that performs it's purpose well! Very well!!!
It's American made, tool like, sturdy in hand, fine craftsmanship and should last a lifetime. If it doesn't then the lifetime warranty has you covered. I ordered mine and received it in 8 days...I live in Japan by the way ;) The razor head holds the blade securely with absolutely no wiggle room. The razor has some weight to it so little to no pressure is needed. I'm African American and have NO problems with this razor so if you are like me and have a thick curly beard make the switch, safety razors are the way. I use the 1-2.5 range and I'm good to go! It's expensive yes but you can't beat the craftmanship, warranty and the fact that its Steele.

After realizing those cartridge razors are just rip-offs, I made the switch to safety razors and am very happy with the decision. In addition to the monetary saving on razors and less waste, it's also a smoother and cleaner shave. This particular razor is likely the last one I buy in my life. It's built really sturdy and got a nice weight to it as it's stainless steel. Unlike some of the chrome ones I had before, the surface of this one will not start flaking after a while. It's also adjustable so that you can readily choose how close of a shave you get. Anyway, if you can afford it, this is really good purchase.

What an amazing piece of beauty!! All stainless steel, snug fitting head, easy rotate adjustment bar to increase the plate gap and aggressiveness, beautiful knurling, amazing and rich finish this razor epitomises class and ease at the same time. Paired with a sharp blade and as per your want of aggression it can offer the best shave of your life!! Reminds me of the Gillette adjustables released during the 1950s to 70s. Aa my heading mentioned if not the first one, this has the potential to definitely be the last razor you will use for your lifetime. Is a bit pricey but then all the stainless steel razors are!! If you want that money to spend go for it folks!! Even better if you can buy it directly from the US and save a few bucks (import duties which definitely are covered in the price shown in Amazon.in)

(Small disclaimer, this is from my personal experience, people have different skin types and some razors may work better than others for them) (The equipment I used for this review are an Astra Blade, Rockwell Shaving Cream, T3 Simpson Shaving Brush and the Razor itself was set in between 2 and 3 and I was changing up and down depending on the area of my face I was shaving) As the headline implies, the Rex Ambassador is simply just a wonderful shaver. Was using a Rockwell 6s, wonderful shaver as well, but this one is just leagues above it, it doesn't even compare. Obviously for the asking price of the Razor itself, I would hope it's performance to be stellar, and it truly is. It's incredibly smooth to use on my skin, it just glides and the blade angle is perfect. The adjustment knob is smooth and very easy to use in order to change the aggressiveness mid shave. Overall I was very happy with my shaving experience. It's strong stainless steel build makes it a hefty razor, but the weight is well distributed. It being stainless steel makes this razor quite the tank and I am confident I will be able to use it easily for the next 50 years and more. (You still need to make sure to dry it properly and take care of it if you want it to last) I saw some people also mention the knurling on this razor being exceptional and I do have to agree with those reviews. Again, comparing it to the Rockwell 6s, the Rex just feels more grippy in my hands. This is all to say that this razor oozes quality and I am sure you will be quite happy with how this razor performs if you buy it. Special shoutout as well to Wish4Blades for their complementary gift that came with the razor, it's very much appreciated :D especially since I was in the market for them.
