Too tasty to be “medicine”
Aside from the fact that this stuff works like a charm and keeps my laryngopharengeal reflux at bay, it tastes like the most delicious ice cream topping you can possibly imagine… It’s really hard to restrict myself to only 5 mL at night! If you’ve ever had Baskin-Robbins turtle pie- that’s what this stuff tastes like! I take it after I’ve eaten everything for the day about an hour before I go to sleep and no more acid reflex bubbling up into my throat & hearing funny little noises every time I lay down! I’m getting so much better sleep now too!

Tastes good, and it works.
This really works to prevent my nighttime reflux. I prefer the vanilla caramel flavor. It’s not the only product using alginate for reflux, but this one was recommended to me by an ENT physician and a speech pathologist.

Overall good product
I think this is a good alternative for taking medicines, obviously this is completely subjective to personal health and severity of symptoms. I’ve had pretty bad GERD and get that throat acid feeling after eating, which is just an issue with the lower sphincter. I like this product because it addresses the anatomical issue by creating the raft with alginate. Keep in mind, they did not create the alginate concept, “sodium alginate” is the key ingredient that gives the “raft” floating concept on top of the stomach acid, which in theory is supposed to stop or reduce the acid refluxing from stomach to esophagus. This is basically a version of Gaviscon (advance or dual action) and other alginate products, but it’s a good product. Things I don’t like and believe others would also agree (I’ve also tested this product on hot vinegar so I can see how it actually works, trying to replicate the stomach environment:- 5ml recommended dose is unlikely to create enough raft to sufficiently do the job, based on the volume of the stomach. When I put 5ml (1tsp) in 99f vinegar, the raft formation is about the size of a quarter coiled up.. therefore, you probably need more like 10-20ml (Gaviscon recommended dose), which significantly increases the already expensive product.-As my previous note alludes, the product is already expensive at the recommended dose, considering someone will have this multiple times per day, you realistically need to order 2-3X more often making it very unaffordable-I like the product claims all natural ingredients but does have ambiguity around all ingredients. Considering the taste is pretty good, makes me want to know exactly what I’m putting in my body multiple times a day. Just because something is natural, doesn’t mean I may want to consume it.-People with reflux who are trying to find solution other than a pill, likely do not want multiple grams of sugar per serving multiple times per day. As mentioned, if you need 2-3X the dose each time, your looking at 5-10g of sugar each serving.. many people take this before bed which is not ideal to slam that amount of sugar before bed. I rather stevia or something so I’m not hyped on sugar + calories.Overall would recommend, but if some of the negative aspects such as cost make this inaccessible to you, you can likely also make your own sodium alginate/calcium carbonate blend (search online) or just buy Gaviscon (make sure it’s not the USA version because that oddly does not have the sodium alginate/carbonate blend). If they reduced sugar/use stevia instead along with creating a larger version at a more reasonable cost, I would definitely recommend and buy more.

Works but is pricey for an inexpensive ingredient
I had an especially bad episode of Gerd, chest pain and acid burning my throat. I stopped taking the proton pump inhibitors because I read long term use isn’t healthy, and they were starting to make me feel bad, but there isn’t much else that helps. This time I also had to eat non triggering foods exclusively. I researched and found alginate was highly recommended. Since taking this product morning, bedtime and after meals I seem to be healing. It comes in a tube reminiscent of lotion or shampoo, which means it doesn’t travel well in a car or purse- single packaging travels better. I believe they sell it that way too. Taste is not bad. I put a little in a measuring spoon because I don’t want to use it up fast by guessing the amount incorrectly. The price is higher than I would like, but if it sells well maybe the price will come down someday. I can’t afford to replace it often, but it is great to help the bad weeks to heal up some of the damage in my throat.

Can’t Tell Shelf Life/Expiration Date
It tastes good and it seems like it works. I cannot find an expiration date on it and would like to know the shelf life. I was about to use and it looked like the container had expanded a lot. I opened it over the sink and a lot came out fast with the inside pressure that had built up. I don’t feel comfortable taking it now because it seems like it has spoiled.

Worked For Me
i have tried many ways to solve acid reflux, stopped eating and drinking water early in the evening as well as using an inclined mattress pad, but started to cough when I laid down. My gastro and lung doctor both recommend this gluten free product. Doctors said to take it a half hour before bedtime. It solved the problem. I was afraid to use it at first because i was worried i wouldn't be able to swallow it, but the consistency was easy to swallow. Its smooth like baby food and not a jelly. Plus the chocolate mint tastes great. I am placing my second order today.

Reflux Gourmet has been a life saver!
Reflux Gourmet has been a life saver! It really works on stopping the acid reflux and taming the digestion. I like the vanilla caramel flavor the best but the chocolate mint tastes okay too (it is a little thicker and harder to get down). I haven't tried the gum yet but will order some in the future. I also have the travel packets for on the go relief. I did have a problem with one tube breaking at the top seam but customer service was fantastic and refunded me the cost and replaced the product. Wow! Highly recommend.

Not for me
After my Mayo physician recommended this, I was SO hopeful. It doesn’t taste bad, tolerable, but it increased my sour taste in my mouth during the night and added to my IBS-D symptoms. Expensive and hate to toss it out but unless I find a friend who wants to try it-out it goes….
