Of the 6 caterpillars we received, only one formed a chrysalis, and that one died before becoming a butterfly. We ordered a second batch. None of the second batch of 6 even made it to the chrysalis stage. There is nothing that the kit instructs you to do during the caterpillar and chrysalis stages (apart from keep them at room temp and out of direct sunlight), so there's nothing we could have done wrong. This kit seems to be a dud.

The Venus fly trap is a hardy plant. But make sure you buy distilled water to water the plant. Tap water will kill it. Also make sure you put the Venus flytrap near a sunny window. We bought this plant for our classroom and it adds a nice nature feeling to Room 14! It also complimented our science lesson. It is a cool looking plant and we recommend that you buy one.

Great experience. The venus fly traps and terrarium were packed very carefully. The plants arrived in great condition and are very cute. The terrarium was easy to set up and the plant care directions that came with it were very clear. The price was very reasonable. It would have taken 2 years to grow plants this size from seed. Very excited to give the venus fly traps to my daughter for Christmas!

The plants arrived in less than good condition and then I wanted to return but it is not returnable so we planted them as directed and will be lucky if they grow even though we followed the directions to the tee.

Plants are decently sized and healthy when they came, but aren't meant to be in terrariums, and the dirt that came with them isn't that good.
