I reconfigured my RO system to use this filter with quick-connect fittings due to past issues with leaking threaded fittings. So far no issues and the next filter change will be "Quick"! No observable odd water taste, I would say the filter is performing as designed. Combined cost to treat water estimated at $0.05 per gallon compared to local water company $0.25 per gallon.

This is a very good quality R.O. Post Filter. It is easily installed in minutes. It is the last step filter after the membrane that ensures a clean and a good tasting drinking water. Good quality and price.

This filter works great. I started getting a smell in the ice and after installing this filter, the smell has gone away completely.Pros: This works great. Water is ultra clear, clean and no longer has a smell in the ice. Quick disconnect foe PVC tubing makes for easy replacement when required.Cons: I'm handy so I managed to get this installed after a trip or two to the hardware store. I could see this being difficult to install if you aren't handy though. Read everything carefully first. The instructions on the filter have you go through the installation process first and then the last step says to flush the filter for ten minutes. That should be the first step in the process. Flush the filter because the water will come out muddy. This is my second one (lasted about a year before having to replace it). I wish there were better instructions for this. I had to adapt 1/4" line to my copper line to adapt into this filter. Again, if you are handy with this stuff, you'll be OK. If not, you may want to talk to someone who is.

Our old fridge had the original copper tubing, with no filter. The ice tasted terrible, so we hadn't used the ice maker in 13 years. I ordered this filter, along with the 5 ft. ¼ inch pex line. I removed the old copper line and attached the new line at the floor outlet and the fridge inlet, snipped it in the middle and attached the correct end of the filter to the outlet side. Then, holding the filter over a 5 gallon bucket, I turned the water valve on and let it run a minute until the water was clear. That is a must for a new filter. Then I connected the other end of the hose to the filter, turned the water back on, and Lo and Behold, no leaks. That was 3 months ago. The filter is still working great and the ice tastes pretty darned good. Well, it just tastes like pure, clean water. I also ordered the bracket for it, and mounted it to the cabinet next to the fridge so it wouldn't be just sitting on the floor. I'll buy this filter again, when the water starts tasting funny.

Great price and easy install for an effective filter. I use a generic filter in my Samsung French door fridge. I wasn't happy with the taste of the water so after reading a few reviews here I bought this as a pre-filter. Install was simple with push fittings. Just remove the white tips and keep the blue collars. I added some adhesive hooks to the back of my fridge and used zip ties to secure the filter. I flushed out about 3 gallons of water before connecting to my fridge. Water tastes better and there are no leaks. Hope it lasts for a year but at about $10 a filter I wouldn't mind replacing it sooner.

What can you say about a filter. It came quickly, it was as advertised, and installed easily. Is it worth the price, this I can not say, but I purchased it because I want my reverse osmosis filter is good working order

Once I figured out that you had to take out the plastic plugs (thanks to the Amazon reviews), this was an extremely easy install. Almost too easy. It really helped me self esteem to be able to install this so quickly. Ha!I did not flush water through the filter first, so the first cubes were charcoal looking, but that was fine with me since that was a visual confirmation for me that the thing was actually working. After about 10 dark cubes, they started to look normal.The ice cubes themselves taste great! The filter works like a charm and replacing it in the future will be a breeze. Thanks, Omnipure.

Seems to do a good job of removing odours. Resulting taste is quite balanced - it's not been stripped of all the good stuff.

Great filter. Even though the price has increased considerably since we ordered our 1st one a couple years ago, it's still good value and less expensive on Amazon than in any of the retailers we've checked. The quick connects make it very simple to install, and after running it for 15 minutes to clear the carbon dust and flush it out... the difference in the color, smell and taste we're immediately noticeable. We've attached ours horizontally to the sink drain pipes with cable ties. Quick, neat & tucked out of the way. On our third one now and never had a leak or any problems. Change it about every 6 months.
