Awesome value rod
I've got 2 of these rods, one bait casting and on spinning. Probably one of the best values out there for fishing rods. They look and feel great, aren't too heavy and have decent sensitivity. Only thing I noticed was that the reel on the spinning rod seemed to have a decent amount of slop when locking it down, but once cranked down right it took most of it out. The medium weight has a true fast action. It feels great, well balanced. I can see myself buying more of these in the future.

Awesome product and very affordable
Wasnt sure about the pole after reading some reviews but for the price just grabbed it. The quality of the pole is great and love the color. Have it paired with my okuma ceymar 3000 and the functionality and durability is top notch, my favorite pole for castability, launchs small lures far.

good bang for the buck, feels light
First impression is this is a really nice rod for the price, feels great but i just hope it can handle the beating ill put it through. The 7' medium fast is much thinner and lighter than my penn 7' medium rod is. So far im impressed with it.

Great sensitivity but don't ignore its line rating is only 4 pounds like I did
Just had to replace mine today after getting a couple of really good years of use out of it. The rod looked great and fished great up until I landed a decent-sized catfish while using 6-pound test line despite the rod having a maximum line rating of 4 pounds. Likely would have been fine, except I made the mistake to pulling the flathead catfish up and out of the water using the rod instead of handling the line myself. The rod snapped between the second and third eyelet. I had it paired with a KastKing Royale Legend Glory 1,000-size spinning reel, which is a great combo. They look like they were made for each other. I must admit, though, that I replaced it with an Ugly Stik Lite Pro 5-foot ultralight with a maximum 6-pound line rating and two more eyelets. The Cherrywood HD 5-foot ultralight is great for panfish, but I do catch bigger fish fairly often while fishing for bluegill and crappie. The Berkeley is a bit overmatched by the occasional oversized fish. So I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Disappointed
The first outing with this rod I caught a ten inch rainbow. The tip broke just below the second guide as I was reeling in the fish. I did manage to land the fish though. Needless to say, the rod was not very durable and I would not recommend it.

7ft gem
Very great rod. 2 piece breakdown for travel great in the river. Easy to feel the hits. Definitely worth the price

Love this rod for trout fishing. It’s my favorite. Built strong and flexible. Nice cork grip! Awesome action. All round the rod performance is great and looks good while doing it. Definitely recommend this rod. 10/10

Much better than I thought
I wanted an inexpensive medium heavy rod to use on my kayak. I also preferred to have a rod that isn't the whole 7 ft just to be more compact and out of the way.Rods in this combination are hard to find, so I jumped on this immediately. I don't like to write reviews before I try something so I was able to use this today from shore, not in the kayak.I put 15 lb braid on this with a swivel so I can change lures out quickly on the kayak. The only issue I have had with swivels is heavy lures can cut the line while casting hard. Since this is a rod I plan to use lighter lures with, this shouldn't be an issue. Casting from shore this did very well even with lighter weights.I used a drop shot setup with a fairly light weight, size 6 hook and live worms... not heavy at all. It casted fine. Even more impressive was the feel. The only thing biting today were very small blue gill. Still, I was able to feel every "tap tap tap" as they were playing with the bait. I had a mono leader so that slight vibration was picked up well through the leader, swivel and line. Trust me, if I could feel these fish, I can feel anything. That is something I didn't really expect from a rod this price, but sure am impressed. With a non-mono leader tied straight on I could feel a guppy. I just don't want to have to keep tying new lures while having space issues on a kayak.I can tell hooks will be set with just a small twitch of the hand with this rod.Overall, I am very pleased with this rod. While I got it mainly for the kayak, it also casts well enough from shore to use regularly, especially when fishing where there are trees and brush that hinders the cast.I cannot speak for longevity or know how well this will do with a several pound fish for sure until I try it, but it sure seems like it will hold up. I'll update if anything changes. Now I will look for this rod in a casting model to have for the heavy lures on the kayak also.UPDATE: I had this out on Lake Erie in my kayak and it handled some big small mouth bass and didn't snap when my lure got snagged and my kayak started blowing away from it in sudden high winds. Very sturdy so far.
