I bought this kit because it had the best reviews compared to others. I have a bichon and wanted to start grooming her at home. I thought the packaging was really nice the scioors come in a cute leather casing. I really love the curved scissors! They are great for shaping and rounding my bischon’s head. I found the entire set to be quite sharp. I also do not groom my dog everyday so, I’m only speaking from the point of view of grooming my dog two to three times a month. Overall, I think this is a great grooming kit for beginners.

I am truly amazed at how wonderful this set is. The way they cut is so smooth and quick. Very nice weight to them; which is not apparent from the pictures or until you actually pick them up. I was not paid to write this, nor was I given any discount for my review. I have a lot of experience with scissors; as I do a lot of sewing. Mine were old and so I decided it was time to get a new set to cut my puppy's hair. These are terrific and I am so pleased.

This grooming shears set is as advertised. The shears are of good quality and come in a protective case which is in turn boxed in a cardboard protective case for shipping. The scissors work well and are a full seven inches. The ends are slightly rounded for protection of you and your pet while in use.I don't know if these shears would be what a professional dog groomer would consider a good choice, but for trimming my four Australian Shepherds they will do very well. I like them and do not hesitate to recommend them.When I first examined the set, I noticed a burr inside the thump hole on the thinning shears. (The other two shears were perfect.) Then I noticed that the inside of the thumb hole on the thinning shears was not as smooth as expected, almost like this area had not been finished properly. I removed the burr and finished off the thumb hole with some fine sandpaper and a dremel. The shears are fine now.However, I want to give ikingstar, the vendor, 5 stars. I let them know about the quality control lapse and they immediately offered to send a replacement set or give me a discount on this set. I chose the latter since there is nothing functionally wrong with the scissors.

These scissors are very sharp but the ends are not as sharp as I would like to see. I have found that I sometimes have to snip 3-4 times to actually cut the hair when using the tips of the scissors. I did enjoy a more pleasant trimming experience using this set from what I was using. The curved shears worked great for trimming the hair around my Maltese head. For the price, I believe this set was well worth the money.

Okay, I have owned this set for a year and I'm not a fan, especially of the thinning shears. Everything in this kit is very cheaply made. The metal comb bent during the first week. The straight shears are okay (far from the best), but the thinning sheers do a horrible job on our Golden Retrievers. One of our Goldens is a show dog, so we need a much higher quality set of thinning shears to trim his ears. These shears make the ears look incredibly choppy and you can see the teeth marks in their fur. Not good!!! It turns out that these thinning shears only have 32 teeth. You really want 42-46 teeth on your shears to get a nice smooth finish. The last thing you want is for your it to look obvious that your dog has been trimmed. It should look natural. Don't buy this set! I finally just replaced it with something of significantly higher quality.

I got these to help keep my Shih Tzu trimmed up. I had bought a different pair of thinning shears and they would pull the hair. But this set works very well. I am sure this set will last a long time, they seem to be very well made. I'm definitely not a professional groomer but I hope to get good enough so I can keep my dog trimmed and maybe save some money from going to the groomers so often.

This is a ridiculously good set, especially for such a reasonable price! The thinning shears are better than the ones I bought for my own hair, so the pups will have to share this set with me!

Everything was sharp and good quality, but I'm not crazy about the thinner. Maybe that's how thinners work -- you have to cut several times and the result is something rather uneven? Other than that, everything was superb. I like the curved scissors for the dog's face.
