So, So Happy With This Doll
I absolutely adore this doll. Her face mold and light “makeup” are fantastic, and I love the grey strands interspersed in her otherwise brown hair. The dress is nice, possibly made of dress-weight rayon, with machine lace at the bodice and wrists. She is also wearing a lace jabot/scarf with a cameo and super cute button boots. Did I already say that I love this doll? Yep. Since I’m not a “always in the box” type of person, I’ve already dubbed her “Granny Wendy” (yes, of Hook fame ... even though I already have the Minerva McGonagall/Dame Maggie Smith doll, but I named her Lila ... but I digress). The expression on her face is loving and compassionate, with just a slight quirk of the mouth. Her blue eyes are easily visible. I wasn’t overly gentle unboxing her, so her hair is a bit messed up and some of it is coming out of the French roll type bun at the nape of her neck. No worries. I plan to wash and restyle it to see how it looks. If it doesn’t look good, the original style seems easy enough to recreate. She has the “curvy” size body, which is perfect. Somehow, depicting Susan B. Anthony with a model thin body just doesn’t seem right. Anyway, she has some articulation: elbows, hands, knees, some motion at hips and shoulders, and her head has good range of motion. I love this doll so much that I originally came on here to order a second one. I’ll do a head/body swap with that one with one of the purple top Made-to-Move dolls I have on hand for that purpose. And, because I love this face so much, I may learn to do hair rerooting so I can give her a totally new look. Last, she came with an “underdress” made of plastic. This, I believe, was to protect her body from the black fabric and to provide a bit of puffiness under the dress. It was easily cut off. I see this doll being a favorite of many ... young, old, and collectors of every type.

Grey hair!
Finally a true grey haired Barbie! The grey fashionista model had 1/3 of her scalp in fuzz. Susan’s hair is very stiffly styled in that back bun. I’m not sure what will happen to it when she actually gets handled, which she will. We older collectors are happy to have someone our own age to play with. Susan is lovely. She’s the curvy model. Her Jabot is attached to the dress so to take off the dress it will have to be snipped off and unwound from her neck. And then there’s the weird plastic underwear under her dress. I don’t know what that’s for. If she had come out a few months ago I could have saved a lot of work by not having to sharpie dye a barbie’s hair grey! Oh well. Happy to have her now.

Susan B. Anthony
I bring her with me whenever I vote. I like the irony.

Susan B Anthony's contribution to American Women joins Pop Culture!
This doll is a lovely addition to the 'Inspiring Women' series. It does not look at all like Miss Anthony, but copies her simple grey hair and black Victorian dress very well. Hopefully she will inspire some young people to look her up and find out what she did for women in America, as well as what she really looked like.

Collector's Doll for a Child Interested in Women's History
My nine year old granddaughter had asked for this, the Susan B. Anthony doll, especially. She is truly interested in women of history and this could not have been a better gift. I have never seen her so excited! Her parents talk about the struggle of women, inequality and the suffrage movement of the early 1900s. So it was a delight for me to give her something that made her so happy.

Susan B. Anthony can really rock the gray!
I was excited to find a Barbie with natural gray hair! I just had to see what she looked like after a shampoo! I love her, she is really adorable if you like to restyle your dolls. I posted this photo on my Instagram account. I appreciate the articulation of her wrists. She has a curvy body as well.
