Great gift for a budding programmer/robotics child. Doesn't moves when fully charged on a surface but will spin once lifted (no friction).My son says it was fun to build but disappointed when it didn't work after charging it for 4 hours in the sun

Definitely would not have trusted my eight year old with the assembly on his own. He would’ve lost the pieces instantly. So assembly is definitely a child parent project, that you do when you have the time! Bc it takes time! But overall he enjoyed it!

Purchased as a gift for my 7 year old nephew on his bday! This is definitely not easy to assemble because the directions that it comes with are not very good. He is now building it with his papa and of course its making it a chore because they already ran into issues.

I bought it fir my nephew and he put it together in no time at all. He is enjoying it

I bought this set as a birthday gift for my 9 yr old son. We built our 1st robot together, picking one of the more complex models. Instructions are good, it was no problem to finish the 1st assembly. The final product contained a lot of linkages and moving parts - we ended up with a very flimsy robot. The solar cell provides very little power to a low torque motor, the flimsiness added a lot of friction to the moving parts - at the end the robot did not really move the way it should have. We were a little disappointed - hope, the other (simpler) robot designs will work better.

This takes time but is great quality time with your child. We were twisting the parts and the plastic would break, but we broke one of the parts. Use side snips to release all the parts. After that, it should go together pretty well. The instructions were really good.

This is very hard to assemble. I could not make sense of the instructions. I can normally assemble things with no issue. I had my husband help my son with it and he was able to get it together but then it didn’t work properly. It was trying to move, but just wouldn’t work. I don’t know how an 8 year old could put this together. Don’t waste your time with this unless you are already good at this kind of thing.

Made of cheap plastic parts that do not exactly fit nicely. We had to use a lot of strength to force in some of the parts and the next moment the previously assembled part will dismantle til to the force exerted.. it was really frustrating..
