Awesome chipper. 5+ stars.
Machine was well packaged and delivered faster than expected. No instructions included for putting it together, but it is pretty intuitive. Quick connect PTO shaft and 3-point hitch. So far, used 2 days for about 8 hr a day, machine worked great. Makes fast work of small trees. Attached to a Kubota L245, runnig the PTO at 750rpm and engine about 2000rpm. Chipping scrub oak, pine, cherry laurel, magnolia. It takes up to 3" without any issue, 4" is kind of the limit, but that may be related to my tractor's HP or running the PTO at less than 1,000.My only issue is that the discharge chute clogs pretty often with small branches/twigs, and the flywheel housing bolt stripped out after having to open it repeatedly. I will probably run the PTO at 1,000 and see if it does better. All in all, very happy with this chipper. It's going to save me a lot of time and effort in the end. After about 4 months of use, still very pleased. Makes quick work of small trees. PTO @ 1000 rpm has helped efficiency. Pretty indispensable if you are clearing property on your own.*After 18 mo of use, and a couple of hurricanes, I have chipped literally several tons of pin oak, live oak, pine, etc. One of my very best investments.I would buy again.

B+ grade...
The chipper works fine.....It was easy to attach to the 3 pt. hitching and seemed toto do the job.....The bigger wood branches....3"plus will chip, but you have to feed themslowly, not just drop them in like the smaller pieces...but all and all good.

Great chipper
I was a little hesitant to buy this, but decided to give it a try because of the good reviews it got. I really like this chipper! So, to be clear, this is the only wood chipper I've ever used, but I am very pleased. The shipping was very fast. It came several days before the earliest estimated arrival date. It also comes packed in this welded angle iron crate that did a great job protecting it in transit. I don't think it had a scratch on it when it arrived. The assembly was super easy and miniscule. I hooked it up to my tractor and fired it up. I'm using a 35 HP Yanmar tractor, not sure the HP on the PTO. I ran it at about 800 RPM and went to work chipping mesquite. I threw in pieces mostly 2.5 inch and smaller, with a couple 3 inch pieces mixed in. The chipper didn't care if it was dry or green, I did both. It spit out a pile of beautiful wood chips! Not sure where all the thorns went... I'm sure I'll find them later in my feet as I walk on this stuff.I'll update this post after I use it more, and I'll try to include a video and some pictures.

A great machine
I've been using this machine for a couple of weeks, and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. After comparing it to several machines online and at my local power equipment stores, it came down to this BX42S and a similar machine made in the US. US manufacture was important to me, but in the end the BX42S was a lot more machine than the other "finalist" which was manufactured in the US Midwest. The most important differences were the overall weight/ruggedness of the BX42S, which was about 100lbs heavier overall, with a flywheel about double the weight of the US machine, and the larger throat size of 4x10" which means that you do not need to trim off all branches before chipping. The US machine had a 4.5x4.5" throat, which would have required more time trimming. The BX42S is made in China, but at about 1/3 less money for a lot more machine the choice was clear, and I'm very impressed with the performance.I'm powering it with a Kubota BX1800D which is definitely at the low end of the required power range. Another 10HP or so would help, but I've put entire 3" diameter trees 15ft tall through the machine without trimming, and it worked great. However, I can't chip a 4" log without stalling the tractor.I would definitely recommend a slip clutch for the driveline and a quick attach 3-point hitch, especially if you frequently change attachments as I do.

Really just a five star echo here.
Like the others, it came sooner than expected, and very well shipped. I put it together today, Hooked it up to my Kubota L3830. The motor is 37 HP I dont know what the HP is at the PTO. I ran the motor at 2200 rpm. on my tractor thats about 450 rpm. I ran a bunch of 3" or so, Monterey Cypress thru it and it chipped like a champ! I was hesitant to buy this chipper, because it doesnt have a hydraulic feed. But everyone seemed to agree that it doesnt matter, and now I agree as well . I would imagine that if you had a large chipper, and were chipping great big branches, the auto feed would be nice, but im going to split and burn anything larger that 4". So, I think I'm going to be glad i didnt spend the extra money. The other thing I would like to mention, is that the chips are a great size. I Have 75 or so, trees i have to clean up after, and am lookin forward to spreading these chips around!
