I kept having the same problem with every pill cutter I've bought. Many of my pills would get crushed instead of cut. I will probably buy another one of these because I can finally split a pill accurately, quickly and easily. Still cutting great months later. Once you get used to it... it's a piece of cake! Don't settle for less...buy something that's great.

I just ordered my 2nd. Equadose Pill Cutter. This product works so good that I wanted to have a second one on hand in case my existing one wore out. I tried many pill cutters but this one is by far the best. It cuts the pills from both the top and bottom resulting in a clean cut without leaving dust or small pieces. I really don't understand why everyone wouldn't give this a 5 star unless they are not using it correctly. I typically do not take the time to do reviews unless a product is very poor or in this case is a fantastic product.

Just arrived today. My prescription is 25 mg and I am to take only half - 12.5. That is a little pill to cut, has no "slit" line and has been ending up is some small pieces. I must admit this is challenging to place a small and oblong pill properly. Finally ended up using tweezers - yup and it worked. And if it was twisted just a little bit, when I moved the "security" piece, it straightened out. I did about 1/2 of the bottle - no mess, all just split - no slivers or dust. This thing is really a problem solver - small pill, split in 1/2, no split guideline in pill and it's works! So very pleased. I do recommend.

This pill cutter may work well for most people, but for my particular needs it is actually less useful than the older style cutters with a single top blade. I have two cats on medication, and their tablets are quite small (about 1/4 inch in diameter). To yield the correct dose, each tablet needs to be cut into quarters. This splitter does fine making the first cut - splitting the tablet into two halves - but does not work for splitting the halves into quarters. The half-moon shape of each half tablet no longer fits securely into the part of the cutter designed to hold it. At that point I have to revert to the older style splitter, which will (with some fussing) hold and split a half-moon shape. Also, although the spring mechanism of this device is cleverly designed to hold the pill snugly, I have found it to be a bit fiddly. Lastly, when the pill is in place and the top of the cutter positioned to press down to make the cut, there is a fair bit of wobble which can lead to slightly uneven splitting. The bottom line, based on my experience, is if you need to split tablets only in half, this cutter may work fine for you. Judging from the many positive reviews, it seems to work well for most.

I had some thick pills that I needed to cut into quarters but none of the pill splitters in traditional stores had cutters that were able to split them. They were either too flimsy or the razor wasn’t sharp enough to fully split through without cracking the pill. A friend of mine who’s a nurse recommended this product to me & I can say even though it is *so expensive* it actually works. I didn’t have any cracking of pills & it’s easy to carry around. The pill center mechanism works but you’ll want to take your time anyway just to make sure it’s even. Love that it has a top & bottom razor to make sure it’s split from both sides. The only main caveat is that you have to put a lot of pressure pushing down on the top razor or else it will not work properly. Fingers on each side can work but using the palm to press down across the entire top is probably better. If you have dexterity or strength issues then you should have someone else help you for sure. Other than that I really can’t complain. It’s worth the cost than to lose pills that you can’t use due to them being split improperly.

I've been trying to find a pill cutter that works to cut a round pill in half which is not scored, and somewhat crumbly inside the outer shell. Sooo frustrating , I waste approximately half of the pills I cut, due to breakage, crumbles, and asymetrical cuts. This is the sixth pill cutter I have tried ...and it WORKS GREAT! Super easy to use, it holds the pill in place so it doesn't move when I cut it. I think the dual razor blades make a world of difference for the better. I Cut all 15 pills in half with ease and near perfection, and no crumbles! I obviously Highly recommend this product!

I've tried 4 different pill cutters, all will cut a hard pill nice and even without shattering them, I like to use the word squish because not all pills are the same. Some are really hard and they snap very easy, while others like Amlodipine are compressed and DO NOT have a coating, therefore, they crumble every time. This pill cutter solved that problem, finally a pill cutter that won't crush, smash, shatter or crumble. That 2nd bottom blade is a miracle. Keep in mind I don't think this pill cutter will work on "all" oval, odd shap and straight pills due to how it holds the pill in place. It however, cut my blue oval pill nicely but im keeping the other pill cutter that has the rubber on bottom and sides with the tension wheel for those pills just in case. I wish that one had a bottom blade because I like the build quality and cool design. Yes, this pill cutter is a bit over priced for its simple design, but it's worth not wasting time, meds or taking incorrect doses trying to create halfs or quarters out of pieces. No one says this, but practice on some over the counter pills first. You'll get it right. Stay healthy everyone.

Could be made with stronger materials. It's a little flimsy but seems to cut well and would be a great size for travel. It's got a double blade so it cuts through well and didn't leave pill dust. But it might be a little off on the center...most were cut well but this one was off center on the half cut...as seen in the picture.

Does exactly what it says on the label. Pricey but everything else I've tried so far would create some kind on unique issue.

I bought this pill cutter, because my cat has been prescribed Gabapentin, and if you’ve EVER tried to ‘cut’ a Gabapentin Tablet evenly ‘in half’, you will know how almost IMPOSSIBLE it is to do, without it shattering into small pieces! I was tearing my hair out trying to cut these tablets! So I went searching for some sort of ‘alternative’ way to cut my cats Gabapentin Tablets, and I came across THIS WONDERFUL PILL CUTTER! Although initially I have to admit that I did have to think twice before actually purchasing it, because it is quite expensive, I was SO desperate, I thought I’d give it a go! And I am SO glad I did! It works slightly differently from most other pill cutters, because instead of using the standard ’single’ blade, this little pill cutter has TWO BLADES, one on the top blue cover, and another one that comes up from underneath the white bottom. The interior has a ‘guide’ that holds the pill securely in place, preventing it from sliding around whilst you cut it, and the ‘platform’ that you place the pill onto, is ‘floating’ on some sort of a ‘sprung mechanism’, so that when you push down on the blue cover, that contains the first blade, at the same time, the second blade comes up from the bottom, underneath the pill, so then cutting the pill with TWO blades instead of a single blade! A basic, simple concept, but it actually WORKS! I found that the most successful way to use this pill cutter, was to use both hands, and then push down on either side of the cutter, evenly, using the base of my thumbs (see photo 1). It managed to make light work in cutting all of my Tablets, which are less prone to shattering (see photo 2), but it did also manage to successfully cut my cat’s Gabapentin as well, upon ‘most’ attempts, but that wasn’t the fault of this pill cutter, the fault, as I’ve said, lies in the type of tablets that my cat is currently taking. So, to sum up, yes, it IS on the pricey side, but if you have to cut medication Tablets on a regular basis, the time and stress that this pill cutter will save you, makes it definitely WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD!

Fait le job , cependant pour les petits cachets, c’est vraiment très compliqué de les positionner correctement et de couper en 2 pieds en quatre. Et le coupe de pilule est vraiment très cher, mais c’est vrai qu’il fait très peu de miettes. Si on appuie assez fort pour couper en une seule fois.

As a working professional who needed to cut thousands of pills a week, this cutter serves very well for me. 1. It cuts accurately, and you can SEE what you are cutting. 2. There are some pills that are too small to be held in place, but as long as you cut it on a flat table there is no issues cutting it anyway. 3. there is much less breakage than other cutters 4. You can cut a large oblong tablet into quarters crosswise, not possible for other cutters. 5. Durable, every part serves its purpose and is easy to clean.
