This is the second repair on this appliance that is almost 7 years old. The first involved a seal that caused a leak that was unknown for some time, unfortunately. This time around it seems to have simply been two plastic attachments breaking on the upper rack, probably normal wear and tear after so long plus weight/pressure. We started searching and found a full replacement rack but you're talking several hundred dollars at that point. We narrowed it down to this item pretty quickly - this has the bottom attachments, so make sure to retain the upper assembly parts as you'll need those. I initially thought this was "everything" needed to reattach the upper rack, so make sure you look at what you're getting here. Overall I'd say it was a relatively easy install process, though I would note that no instructions were included...however, I saw the video on the product page so simply referred back to that. The video isn't perfect as it is zero audio at all, just fingers pointing at things as they go. I got it all ready to install but got hung up for quite some time getting it down into the back peg/locks for some reason...I ended up doing a disassemble just to verify it works. It does fit though, it either requires some extra force to snap it down or I feel like I had some success pushing in the release tab that was maybe getting caught...or maybe you need to depress the tab just to loosen it up a bit before sliding it in. After that I fought it one more time before winning the battle and finally getting the back two tabs to fit in as needed. Even with some of the difficulty, overall I'm very happy with an affordable repair and being able to avoid buying an entire new dishwasher just because of a broken plastic piece!

So a plastic part broke on our dishwasher and I envisioned scheduling an appliance repair. On a whim I looked for a part number and did a search for parts. I couldn't figure out how to order from appliance parts websites, so I tried on Amazon. I found a part that matched with the part number on the piece, ordered and received in just two days. I was concerned by some misspellings on the description page, but it worked out great. The video was essential for me to do the replacement; oddly though the "how to remove the old part" actually shows second in the video. Typically when I try a home repair I need to buy some tool or other and sometimes buy a second item after breaking a part with my first attempt; but replacing this part went great. It seemed to fit just like the original. My wife was impressed that I fixed it rather than waiting for the appliance guy!

Edit: This is my second purchase: My first review is below. I no longer recomend this as I only got about three years out of this product. The plasic degrades much faster than OEM. I did not get the life out of this that I like. Also, having to widen a slot on the plastic by using a drill and file was a PITA. The assembly will not slide properly without shaving down plastic. I will be looking for OEM after this one goes bad in three years. ####### first purchase review...5 stars. First, it is a bit of a challenge to assemble and two parts do not work without some easy modifications. But clearly, this is more sturdy than my original. I have a KitchenAid and a tab that holds the assembly to the metal slider broke. This kit matched my model number. First, when putting the new holder on the dish rack, one of the channels that the plastic part has to slide over the metal wire rack is too narrow. There are two channels and one is too skinny. It is easy to widen it with a drill bit that is the same size as the wire rack gauge. a nail file might work as well, or even a bit of whittling with a box cutter (be careful). Second, the plasitic tabs that engage with the metal slding rack are slightly thicker. This is VERY easy to fix by using a standard flat screwdriver to pry/widen the gap on the metal rack. Gentle pressure, and you can make the gap wider and then the new plastic tab will slide in easy. I do not recomend filing down the plastic tab as that would weaken it and possibly shorten its life span. This new replacemnt part is clearly a bit more sturdy, so I expect it to last the rest of the dishwasher's life.

Overall the product feels like durable plastic and fit into the rack. The additional parts for mounding the bracket also fit well. The exception is one of the grooves molded into the top of the main bracket was too narrow to properly fit in-between the wire rack. I used a file to expand the size of the groove and then it fit and worked as it should. In the picture you can see the new part on top and the groove on the left is more narrow compared to the groove just below it on the original part. It was a minor fix.

My KitchenAid KDTE104ESS4 dishwasher has long suffered from at least 1 broken drawer tab for about a year, which has resulted in difficulty closing the dishwasher as the top tray obviously wouldn't line up with the water exhaust port as needed without physically man-handling the drawer. Eventually, the other tab finally broke - disabling the entire dishwasher (well, I could remove the top shelf and run it, but at half capacity and the top water port would have just jetted directly onto the inside of the door). Finally found these replacements, and had them shipped next-day. For less than $25 total, it was worth it. Took less than 20 minutes to install - just watched a random YouTube video once and saw that all of it easily pries apart. Didn't even use any tools - just a butter knife LOL! Replacement parts longevity and "new improved" design remains to be seen - I got about 6 years of life of existing service from the factory plastic gear before they snapped, so if it lasts longer than that, it's a win in my book. Seller even included a neat little dual sided metal sign that says "Clean" and "Dirty" on their respective sides, and a small stick on magnet to mount it. Nice! (not sure I'll use it, though). Anyway, go for it! Just be careful prying off the height adjustment locks - you'll need to reuse those.

Parts are tight fit there is no play within the rack once installed guaranteed to break again soon. The supplier statement of this is an upgrade...loll it is not an upgrade i assure you not even close as a matter of fact it is a down grade if anything. Garbage product spen more money get an OEM part and save the hassel not worth it one bit. I highly suggest to stay away from this product and do not reccomend it at all !!

No directions included so pay attention to the way the original one was on. One piece didn't go on well and it keeps popping off, however; the shelf slides much better now.
